Im in the process of getting Fabian's(04silverbullet) paypal right now so we can help him out. His family lost their home today in Hurricane Isaac.
Lets pull together and help this fellow member, the kid is a great kid and helped me when I lost my home in April.
That's heartbreaking. Sending prayers up for his family and all that were affected.

Thanks so much guys.. We didn't expect it to be this bad at all.. It stayed over our area for a few hours and the lake ponchartrain had to go somewhere... By the time we saw where the water line was, it was too late to leave in a vehicle and put everything up, we grabbed the dogs and walked to the highway where a police officer on duty let us use his cruiser to go to a safe place but my dad had to bring the car back an help for the rest of the night.. I have no clothes or shoes to wear, they were all ruined by the lake water, we already started pulling the carpet and trying to get the house liveable ASAP..

My parents and sister all had clothes in the attic, so they are ok besides me, I wear a medium shirt, 32 pants/shorts, and a 9.5 shoe, ive been wearing my slippers for the past 3 days walking through contaminated water.. Our dogs have food but all their toys are ruined as well..
I'll keep you all up to date as much as I can, I barely have signal since the storm and our router and modem took a swimming lesson..
Wish we could do more to help ya brother, but that ought to get you some shoes. You coonasses are tough people I know you will get through this. The wife PP'd something. Good luck man.

Thank you guys so much for the donations! I finally have some other clothes to wear besides the shorts and shirt I was already wearing.. I'm also planning to share some of the donations with other families in the area that need it.. Many houses were completely underwater and have lost many things as well..
Thats good Fabian. It hit hard a little further south than we live. I know a lot of people who lost everything in Plaquamines. After going through Katrina, I know exactly how it is and I feel for you man but I know you will be stronger because of it
Hey guys, just some updates... Everybody is trying to screw us over.. Flood Insurance hasn't given us anything yet, FEMA won't give us a dime, and housing hasn't either.. We've done everything around the house with our own money so far.. We didn't get housing assistance, so we've been living in a mold-growing construction site for the past few weeks..

I didn't get an actual pic of how high the water was because I evacuated once the water got to my door step..

I also just signed my contract for the Air Force, which I will be leaving for BMT on Nov. 13th, so I won't even get to see my room finished before I leave..
Fabian I'm in a tight spot until payday since my company is a few weeks behind and I just started. Next week I'll send you some money to help out.
Too bad about the house and the problems with insurance, I hope it gets squared away soon. Good luck.

We've been moving a long fairly quickly... Still no money from Flood Insurance or House Insurance... We got our bedrooms all done besides painting the new doors, and then we start tearing apart the living room and kitchen.. I've finally moved back into my room after 3 weeks of sleeping in the living room, but I'm still living out of a box, lol.. I will upload some pictures later to show you guys some progress.

Good to hear y'all are making progress. Hit me up if you want to know anything about the AF. I've been in for 8 years, deployed 4 times and have worked with a lot of different career fields.

Just some updates guys, the neighborhood is finally starting to slowly fill back up, while we've been living in our house throughout the whole process. We're about 5/7 of the way done, completing the last bathroom and still having to do the living room and garage.. Process has been kind of slow because we've been through MULTIPLE contractors who always seem to FSU after a while.. House is coming along very nicely, just have to complete it and do some minor touch ups like flooring, etc..
