What is a good rebuildable core selling for?
probably 200-400
The math works out to about 2700rpm..... With a 30" tire.....
Yea with my 28" street tires its right at 3,000 at 70
Not bad I was at 3500 456s with 60e
Now I have 323s on a th400 soon
Yea you will be a little less than me. I promise you will love the 400
Do u have a manual valve body ? That's what I got Kenny to put
No its not manual. My tranny builder talked me out of it and I'm glad he did. But a manual valve body is cool too
Yea I didn't want it to shift by vacuum reference I want it to shift when I tell it to lol
yea I hear ya. The modulator is adjustable and I adjusted it to hold the gears a little longer. Its almost how the 60 was with a my old nelson tune. I can also shift manually if I want too
I have a good working 400. But would sell u as a core cheap
There you go! Or Just have Kenny beef it up a little for you and go with that!
+1
Pm me a price on the core and a ball park figure on you building it. I roasted the overrun clutches and sprag in the 80 i built. Gonna swap sone parts and get me going for tonight but im leaning hard towards the th400!
It's funny how things work around here. First everyone said just build the 60e, then everyone went to the 80e and now everyone is jumping on the th400 lol I have even looked at the price of a gear vendors and th400, because of guys like Mic and zach. Kenny seems to be the man as of late for sure would go with him myself, but I am going to try the 80e route first myself. Lol
Well if you end up needing some 80e parts hit me up lol.
I asked my parts guy what a core was worth for an 80e that I changed because one of the apprentices was thinking about doing an 80e swap in his 2001, think he said $500.
Ive got 3 4l80 cores, transgo hd2, and a bran new 3200 stall I'm letting it all go for the price of the stall, I'm fed up with this shit!
That exactly what I have and I wouldnt change a thing about it. Im sure you'll love it!
I'll be putting th400 to the test !!
Lol me too... I'm in boost 90 percent of the time ha ha
I have a vss that my tranny guy had. He has all kinds of parts but this was his last one. He also found a 40 tooth reluctor ring on ebay and I got the pigtail for it from patc. Just a little heads up about patc, make sure you call them and tell them everything you have and if it doesnt come with the pigtail ask to talk to the "electronics" guy bc hes the only competant person at that whole place. Bc of their incompetance I payed $36 worth of shipping on a $20 pigtail so I will never buy a single thing from them again nor would I suggest anyone get a tranny built buy them after hearing a horror story about them. But if that vss conversion is the only way to go and they are the only ones who have it, I guess you dont have any other choice.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing!
+1.
Lmao!
To answer the OP it's more like $100 to buy one if you look around. $200 max.
