I have a vibration that has steadily got worse over the last few weeks. It's my 08 silvy rcsb. It's in the rearend somewhere I'm sure and usualy starts about 60 and gets worse with speed. Iv had it up on a jack and it shakes like crazy. It feels like a tire out of balance but iv ruled that out.Iv swapped wheels and tires, new drums, new brakes u joints...Im out of ideas. Any help would be awesome
Bent driveshaft or bent axle?
Put on jack stand have someone slowely accelerat to said speed. Watch axles and driveshaft. Sound just like jack said

I had a problem with my u-joints binding you might check that.

have you checked your driveshaft with a good straight edge or make sure non of the weights are missing? next question is when was the last time you have checked the internals in your differential? my friend had a vibration problem but i cant remember if it was his carrier bearings were going or it was his pinion bearing.
The truck has 50k miles so iv never been in the rearend. It doesn't feel like a driveshaft vibration but I'll check it out. It's been getting worse and worse over the last month or so. It's lowered but has been at it stance Since new pretty much.
Didnt Allen have a similar issue to this with one of the NNBS he had either at the shop or personally?
May want to check into that and see what was the result.

There's is not too much in the rear that could cause that.
What set up are you running?
It's had a lowering kit for a while. It's never vibrated until recently.. Stock gears, driveshaft, tranny, stall,ect
And its starts about what speed?
Does it happen under accel and stop
When you let off? Or is it all the time from 0 to 70
Sometimes it wont do it at all. But 90% of the time from 55+ all the way to the limiter of 98. On or off throttle plays little to no affect on it.
I would get the balance of the drive shaft checked

Take the driveshaft and have it checked for true and balance. There really isn't anything in the rear end to cause a vibration. Possibly a bent axle, but a bent axle will be noticeable at around 35-40 up. If your driveshaft has any kind of dent in it, even a dime sized dent, it can cause a vibration. I work at a driveshaft shop, I see this day to day.
Iv felt driveshafts vibrate. This is a much slower vibration. It isn't the tight vibration. Can it still be the driveshaft?Quote:

Yes it could possibly be. You're right, a driveshaft is normally a tight or fine vibration. I would have it checked anyways just to be sure, especially if you have changed u-joints. One may not be seated completely and that could cause it to bind up as well causing a vibration.
