Come on guys some one must know
I dont see why not.
Ok hope so. Thanks
Let us know what it runs. :thumb:
U can check out their website

He means for the LS1truck shootout.
I thought so.
Does that mean we're going to start letting every LS style powered vehicle race at the next one? Camaros, Firebired, Corvettes, Monte Carlos, Cadillacs...
Reason asking is my wife wants to start racing and its her vehicle. Starting on it this summer orta b fun when finished
Well stay tunned its about to begin
id imagine thats about the only thing better than a VRT. Go syncro Lsx turbo wagon, would by far be the king of grocery getters.
Yea she likes to go fast but wants to b able to fit all the kids and still go to soccer practice. Lol. Orta b fun for sure
A passat station wagon is a mid sized sedan hatch, not a truck or SUV. It cant run at the LS1truck Shootout.
if they let a jeep compass run, they should let the vw run. :twocents:
Thats what i was thinking
A jeep compass was never classified as a sedan. it was always an SUV, just a small one. A passat is a sedan Sedan SEDAN not truck.
Not trying to nit-pick here with you, but technically, SUVs are considered "wagons" and not trucks. There was a group of lobbiests who got them deemed as such so they would be classified as cars in respect to insurance. A Passat "wagon" is a "wagon" ... any way you look at it. They are in the same class of vehicles. Personally, I don't think it should run as a truck either ... but that's just me.
Well my deal is it is a wagon which is in the suv catagory. Another is it will have a ls motor in it. Unlike the jeep compas. Last i checked it was a ls truck meet. Ls based that is. Just figured for one its gonna have a ls in it and gonna b in the dame class as the small suv. Cause its a wagon not a sedan.
If thats the case, lets have a caprice classic wagon run or better yet a civic wagon. Just because the hippies wanted it labeled a specific way doesnt mean it is still in that class. Any way you want to technically call it, it is still a sedan chassis and body with a slightly larger trunk. It will never be a truck. Here is the difference:
Definition of STATION WAGON: an automobile that has a passenger compartment which extends to the back of the vehicle, that has no trunk, that has one or more rear seats which can be folded down to make space for light cargo, and that has a tailgate or liftgate
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dicti...tation%20wagon
Definition of SPORT-UTILITY VEHICLE: a rugged automotive vehicle similar to a station wagon but built on a light-truck chassis
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dicti...0&t=1333404391
A passat wagon is built on a car chassis not a light truck chassis.
A dodge compass is built on a car chassis as weel and so is most all of ur small suv. Like for escape honda pilot nissan rogue and marono and the 2013 and earlier pathfinder is on a car chasis. Point is that it is ls based and my point is is that it is the same as a compass only with a ls motor in it.
Who cares?
Jeep Compass and Jeep Liberty share the same chassis. So does the Dodge Caliber.
I had a Compass. Best decision I ever made was trading it in.
Since I have not contributed anything to this thread I will stop typing
I dont really care either would just like to b able to have something the wife can run at sar and she relly likes this vehicle and since i go every year with my truck it would b cool to race her lol.
That would be nice to kick ones wifes butt at the strip, or vise versa
Correction, the compass is a crossover SUV.
The GS platform is where the caliber came from but it is so heavily modified it is now called the JS platform. Which means its a different platform.Quote:
The Jeep Compass (MK49) is a compact crossover SUV introduced for the 2007 model year. The Jeep Compass, along with the Patriot both slot below the Jeep Wrangler as Jeep's entry-level sport utility vehicles, and is one of Jeep's first crossover SUVs.
Ford escape, honda pilot, rogue, murano and new gen pathfinder are all crossover SUV's. Your wife still drives a "not truck". I will forever refer to your passat as the "not truck." :lol:Quote:
The Dodge Caliber is a compact car produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler from model years 2007 to 2012 inclusively. It replaced the Neon, and went on sale in March of 2006...................The Caliber rides on a heavily modified GS platform, co-designed with Mitsubishi Motors. The modified GS platform is now called the JS platform by Chrysler for mid-size cars and PM/MK for compact cars. It shares a portion of the platform with the Mitsubishi Lancer, but is most similar to the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot.
Look, I am not trying to be an ass or do everything I can to soggie your wheaties, i just want to keep the event for what it is. I am a facts man so my decision/opinion is based on that. If Allen says you can run, by all means go tear it up, he has the last say. But then he might have to change his domain to LS1Wagon.com
And to everyone else, I care so STFU
Might b my wifes domain as its her vehicle. As i still drive my 99 rcsb awd 408 truck
Yea i see that happening. Not lol:). Just would like to b able to spank her at the truck meet is all.
Is she into that? LOL
Try that tonight at home. :)
