I submitted my info for the invite. If they invite me I'm going fo sho!! If not, I might still go for fun.
If they dont, i'll boycott.
You have to be invited to comptete in throwdown after submitting your info. I can't compete yet cuz I don't run an ls platform, but I'm definitely going to watch and probably get ideas for my build.
Hey, Bowling Green.... an awesome place to get your ride stolen.
Lol for real? My brother works out in bowling green, but he and his family live in Glasgow, KY. I'm probably gonna go with a group of my buddies.
There has been more than one occurrence where a big meet in Bowling Green has resulted in multiple stolen cars. Anyone remember the Grand National fiasco last year?
Regardless, it seems to be a hot spot for stealing high profile vehicles from hotel parking lots.
Its not just bowling green. I leave truck running with keys in it all the time, its not crackheads, its professionals from out of town....
No, but I gave 56k for one of them and It still here.
Why bother?
When will you know If your invited Mic?
im from Glasgow out by the lake btw.
Yea id def be getting one of those tracker things from allen, the guys that stole the grand nationals were caught, and last I had checked the stolen property was returned it was found in michigan, guy on yellow bullet called the cops when he seen em on the interstate.
Not sure, I asked what the odds of me getting an invite were, and they just replied that they would not know till later this year.... So, I'm not holding my breath at this point. it kinda sounds like you have to have some sort of "in" to get an invite... If anyone knows how I could get in let me know. I'm ready to go all in all out with this monster... Lol
I know the track ownerand I few other important people, but is it up to Truckin?
So lemme clear this up or post a link to the rules, you can go and race, but to compete for the award of top truck, you gotta be invited??
I got an invite...
Idk. Whoever makes it, I'm sure it'll be a good competition anyway. I'm interested to see what all comes out to compete. They've done very well on variety so far.
Think it is up to truckin... But can't hurt. :)
I hope I get invited. I think my truck will suprise everyone... It's not built to be a straight line truck at all... But it's just plain fast... :)
Yep, gotta be invited to compete.
Ya, I'm not saying every truck should be considered. It would be hundreds of bench racers trying to prove their stock ride with a throttle body spacer is the fastest truck in the world... I believe I have a real chance to win this, not just compete. I have been going to road corses and playing on abandoned air strips to get my truck and skills dialed in... I don't talk trash, and never throw myself out there, but on this I would! If they don't give my truck a chance I will be pissed.. But not much I can do, I'm a nobody, I don't have some big name behind me to get me into events... To me project novacane was a joke... Half built thrown together pile of parts... Not impressed at all... Anyone that doesn't believe me and feels like talking trash... Save ur breath and just pm me and we can meet and race any type of racing u choose.
That would be badass to see u in truckin mag Mic, your truck definitely deserves it.if they don't look over your truck and specs then they don't know shit about real street Trucks... Hate seeing all the air bag body dropped big rim candy paint trucks in there magazines lol
The good thing for Mic is that the people who matter already know the truth. And let's be honest. Has anything in Truckin mag impressed anyone on this site? I haven't been smitten with a damn thing in that mag since I was a teenager
Most the feature's in Truckin' are shop owners, getting a plug for there shop in exchange for their tech articles.
I agree not everyone can compete and that is the point of the invite. To get plenty of competition, but preferably a higher level of competition. And as it's a relatively new event, tehy are still working out the kinks.
2nd, personally, I've been very impressed with Project Novakane. They have had some mechanical errors, true, but that can at times be expected. I followed the entire build and was very pleased at their coverage and the results. The only real trouble they had out of it was a problem with the water pump belt, if i remember right, in the first competition.
And to adress the comments about Truckin mag, I thihnk there will probably be more lifted coverage with their new look from teh way they're trending now. I mean, I'm not a fan of lowered trucks wither and it takes a lot for me to be impressed with one because they are so limited to the pavement. I've always preferred lifted trucks, but I have found a few that catch my eye such as the Kolor Blind Silverado back in 2009, I believe.
And I don't doubt you would have a chance to ein. I'm not saying you don't. I would be very interested to see you compete in Throwdown or a similar event.
uhhh, theres like a total of 3 lifted trucks on this site  theyre not saying its stupid to lower trucks, if anything why lift a truck harder to load, loud tires bad MPG etc., what theyre saying is in every trucking mag the trucks got giant rims 30k interiors, buncha fiberglass speaker boxes, bagged out laying frame, with a stock motor and some painted accents  and usually show up on a trailer, id rather see trucks with some road grime on em.
Ya, they need a performance truck mag tailored more towards performance than looks. Kinda like diesel power, but for gas. Just my .02
Now that's a magazine I would read. I've had a subscription to Truckin' for the last couple years and anymore just flip through it look at the stupid pictures then read about the classic trucks and toss it in the trash. The articles on most of the cover tricks and the "typical" trucks in there are just pointless and plug some retards shop.
I agree there should be a truck performance magazine. But to I also have to say that not all of them are trailer queens. I personally like how they started the Busted Knuckles section back up almost a year ago now. It really just depends on the issue because it varies. That's just how it is.
Personally I'm biased towards a lifted truck. Just what I was raised around, I guess. I don't mind lowered trucks as long as you can clear a freakin pothole or speed bump without tearin up the whole bottom of your chassis. that's what I think looks bad unless you do it right.
Anyway, back on topic, anyone planning to attend the event?
