Question Regarding Bogarts

i have my 08' Silverado and Rich at Bogart is having a hard time getting the right size fronts for my truck without the rims sticking past out the fender ,im not about too even think how that would look.

i dont think im the only 08' silverado thats going to have 17'' front Bogarts

my front suspension just has the drop spindle,so of course only 17'' or bigger fit

since im doing street/strip the size he recommends is a 17x7...


this sucks,its going on 2 months already waiting on my fronts...as already took a month to get my rears in.

the stock steel wheel is a 17x7.5...he should maybe work off of that,but he just called me said from hub mounting surface-out he can only do 3 1/2 inch...as max we measured would be 2 1/2...that means my fronts would stick out an inch :sigh:

who here is running 17 front bogarts?and what size width,also do u have drop spindles?
i dont understand why its so hard when theres tons of silverados with Bogarts like these

What is your measurement for the caliper over hang? I measured mine wrong the first time and we thought we were going to have the same problem. Measure it right and he'll be able to fix you up. May take a little grinding on the face and the top of the caliper, but you can fit a 15. Flaco put some 15's on two 08+ trucks and ran an 1/8" spacer and just ground the top a little

The 17x7 wheel is HEAVY. Looks good, but heavy

i was on the phone with him earlier ,he only asked for from center of hub to down past the ball joint on spindle which was like 8.5 inches...

I have 17x4 fronts with 14" rotor and 08 calibers. Im using gto spares and a m&h 28x4.5 front runners. I used a adapter to use this wheel. They sit even with wheel well so if I can clear them then you with 13" rotors and custom wheels being made should fit no issues

is there any difference in 99-07 to 08-11's ? i run 16s but after it was said and done 15s would have worked i run a 16x4.5

to bad youre not closer id let ya try my fronts on, and if i knew they would fit i could bring them and let you use them at SAR..:( looks like i wont be running :(

dumb questions, but have you asked on rgv or hpt?

05 and up use 13" rotors and pbr calibers but spindle drops screw you cause of lower ball joint

put stock spindle then swap the mounting point on the strut combo from the top of the A arm to the lower part. Doing this and adding a 1/2 spacer will net you 3-3.5" up front. Buddy did this to his 08. Rides the same yet is lower

PM me I run 16,s bogart im the front and 16's in the rear. I can give u the mesurement for the front off mine.

Went with 15s in the front for mine and they DO NOT clear the front brakes without a bunch of grinding. Need to run 16 on 04+

OP you may want to get ahold of flaco. I seem to remember one of the nnbs trucks he was working with had bogarts.

BTW i dont know what to do about Bogart now going on 3 months already waiting on my damm fronts,i almost even forgot about the damm rims...raceday is a week away ...last time i talked to him was 2 weeks ago he mentioned he was going to have to re do the barrels that he would keep me updated.i left him a message today since they are closed...i will call him Monday but never again will i order another set of Bogarts...shit Allens 15x15 welds on a 33 inch slick are lighter than my Bogart with mh

have you all tried hole shot, they make 6 lug application.. almost same price as bogarts

a slick will always be lighter then a Drag radial, a street bogart will also be heavier then a drag bogart.

5 lug swap wont fix his issue. His drop spindle is causing his issues

different body style uses different spindle mounting along with brakes, but im sure you knew this

you know off the lot these truck only can fit 17'' up front so wouldnt matter if i put oem spindle...according to rich its the big brakes that are the problem....as for the weight that doesnt really bother me...its the 3 month bs wait i didnt mind a month or so but i guess ill run the black steelies up front...if they dont make it by raceday

the problem with the spindle is the placement of the lower balljoint nut. when you get a drop spindle it moves the hub higher in the spindle which gives you youre drop. doing this moves the wheel upwards and now closer to the wheel. a GMT900 truck comes with PBR calibers and 13" brakes. I have the 08 calibers and 14" rotors on mine. i have a 17x4 front runner on mine but im not a drop spindle. If you had stock spindles and swapped the mounting of your strut setup you would gain youre drop back and still be able to clear the 17s easily

Part of the problem is also 17x7" width and the wheels are the street series which are thicker material. I will have a set of 17x4.5" at SAR... You are welcome to try them.. The offset on them helps the clearance

Yea the way bogart has my wheels made right now they would be 2 inches out past fender so he's going to re do the barrels I'll call him tomorrow , I hate bothering people but I haven't talked to him in 2 weeks so I hope he has good news

That would cool if I could maybe try them on see how they fit

This has drilled and slotted rotors itself so they are bigger too lol... Try again... the only thing that was a problem was the caliper needed grinded all the hell but he had them off and made it look stock... But thats common these days for our trucks and racing wheels too...

My 06 has 5lug I didn't have no problem fitting A 17" race wheel on it

I'm gonna run 10s on 6 lug steelies

rears are Hybrid spares they are pretty light. come on 07+ 17x7. clears Dual piston calipers with 14" rotors with no grinding

rear tires are 28x10 Hoosier Drag d06 compound, front tires are M&H 28x4.5 bias ply

draglites got to be the ugliest wheels WELD ever made lol

i dont want weld drag lites,but i do like them....what i meant WELD needs to make a 6 lug drag wheel...if they did id do the rts....one day when im fast ill do a 5 lug swap
