4" rear drop, axle to frame distance...

I not sure but after doing my drop on the rear of the truck (with shackles and hangers) my truck seems lower than 4".

I only have 2 1/2" between the frame and the axle, is this normal? I can barely put any weight in my truck and it bottoms out. Also with big bumps in the road it smacks the frame hard.

There doesn't even seem to be enough room to install helper bags.

I really don't want to c-notch the frame, but in the past I've ridden other trucks with just a 2/4 drop and have never felt anything like this before.

Yes I do have drop shocks, before anyone asks

not being a smartass but are your shocks right side up?

Mine is the same way. I have right about 2" between frame and axle. I have a c-notch but I haven't had the time to install it. I just try to go slow over bumps. But it is extremely annoying/painful on long road trips when I hit bump after bump. Dips in the road are bad too!

yes it's annoying... There is one dip on the freeway on the way home from work that slams the frame every day.

I got a couple inches, mines never bottomed out. And it's not babied. Stock shocks though

My frame has started to bend a little bit. It pinches my rear sway bar too. I should prob go ahead notch mine before I get the urge to sell the notches.

Cause my buddy had his upside down when first did his drop and it bottomed out like crazy...

they make a bump stop for dropped trucks, doesnt really do anything but stop the metal on metal contact, mine is the same way with a 2/4 put caltracs on and it doesnt budge, i can jump up and down on the bed and it moves maybe an inch.

I would say try a set of stock length shocks and see if that helps....I plan on keeping stock lengths when I do my 2/4 also.

Yeah I got the skinny bump stops, but you have me thinking about the caltracs although.

It was way worse with the stock shocks imo.
