Just like the title says....but i run a turbo soo any help and thoughts would be awesome and should i re-use my GMPP hot cam or go with a Z06 cam, or should i think out side outside of the box and head to aftermarket companies like TSP etc..... I like factory junk. It does what it says it will do. Besides who makes better parts then the factory race division:thanks:

As for the hot cam I'm not familiar with the specs.
i would def get a custom spec cam for a turbo setup but the z06 cam would work but i think you would b leaving power on the table. pat g speced ftw

now i actually read the thread... i have a speed inc. TU1 and its pretty darn good! i bet you would love it!
I have a new Z06 Cam in the tube, and a Hot Cam, the Hot cam is .525/.525 but a rought idle that negitively impacts the the driving characteristics of the truck at slow speeds with my old 5.3 and 3k stall, and 3.73's but i HATE!!!! idle surge it drives me to 9 grand.... but i do miss the nice idle....and what company is FTW ? thanks

I think one of the Cheater Cam's might suit you well they have "like stock idle" according to the Thunder Racing website.
Arent you having issues with your motor anyway? Definitely dont add anything until you get that taken care of or figured out. And when youre ready for a cam get one custom spec'd out for your application. Hot cam is a no go for boost. The LS6 cam is frequently used and has given good results, but is not always the best choice.

I got the hot cam in my truck, and it drive like stock. You prob need a better tuner.

I know a good 5.3 with stock idle cam is old man trucker cam... I believe thats the correct name... Ask importthis or 3030 on that one...
The old man trucker is one of the cheatr cams
Ya I dont know much bout it but know its a similar to stock idle cam..
According to thunder racing the specs are along these lines... 214/220 .600/.523 115 LSA although I want to say it has a 115+2 LSA.
Definitely worth the $25 to get Pat G to spec it out.
Ian had the Old Man Cam and was not impressed.
Matter of fact, I was there the day he put it in.
Good to know I was thinking it might go nice in my wife's truck, but guess not.
