I got some 18's for the truck

I've been looking for a set of take off 18" hybrid wheels and tires every since I saw and read about them. They are super light and billet. I got this set in Dallas on saturday that came off a 2011 Tahoe Denali Hybrid. The tires have 95% tread left and came with the TPMS installed. I love the way it looks now as the wheels are 1" wider tires are .5" wider and 1.5" taller. I was a little disappointed as the new setup weighs 12.5lbs more per tire/wheel.Attachment 5096Attachment 5095Attachment 5094Attachment 5093

Different good or different bad. Don't worry you won't hurt my feelings. There are lots that don't like the hybrid wheels. I guess that is how I got a set lol.

Interesting. I kinda like the way they look. So what is the width on them? If they're lighter rims but yet they're 12 lbs heavier, what was your previous setup?

Not sure, I've never seen them in person. You need my old Tahoe 17s on there. ;)

those rims are light for stock 18's...those are not the stock tires tho.........

I like the style of them. I think they'd look good PC's in a flat black on my truck. Might have to scoop up a set.

Tehy look good. Probably the rear is an inch tall for my taste, but they look real good.

Is funny that you say they are 12.5 lbs more than ur previous setup...what did you have there?

I have a few set of those wheels, and without tire they are really light. lighter than any 18" wheel I ever carried.

Probably the tire is the culprit. Those tires are way bigger than stock. Still don't know were 12.5lbs is added !!!!!

I have to say Jeff, I think it looks bad ass. I love lowered trucks on stockers of some type. Not that yours is that low but it looks cool cause its different.

Funny I tried to lower the rear with shackles, but by the time I lost the spare tire and the bumper it is almost back to stock height. Those are not stock tires but are the stock size 265/65-18's. From what I can find those tires are 40lbs and the factory Bridgestone tires are like 56lbs. I bet those tires are more than 40lbs. I had stock GMC wheels with 255/70-16's. The old rim width was 7" and the new ones are 8". The 16's were 53.2lbs and the 18's are 65.7lbs.

Yup sure is. I just think that Black wheel are getting played out in lots of cases. IMO. I used to have black 22's when my truck almost lifted lol

Sooo true blacks played out... Murdered out trucks look better with a flashy wheel even if it isnt flashy...

How can you say black is played out, I would say chrome is played out more then anything.... Everywhere you look now people have ugly, cheap looking chrome wheels... I was talking to a guy yesterday and he was saying he was trying to buy some chrome rims for his truck, his exact words "I want some chrome rims, just some cheap ones that are shiny"... The only chrome wheels I actually like are ones like whiteouts tahoe.

The wheels the guy has on this fourm would look way better black with the color of his truck then they do now... grey on grey doesnt look too good but grey and black looks good.

I had chromes on my last truck and it looked good because it was the Indigo Blue Metallic. I think black would have looked funny. Now I have the truck in my sig and I think chrome would look odd since the only other chrome on it is in the grill (soon to be black). I think the OP's rims look good as they are because they fit with the grill, mirrors, and handles but would look funny on my current truck. I think the truck and rims have to compliment eachother.
That being said, I think they'd look good in a gunmetal powder coat too.

Who said anything about Chrome, I dont have Chrome I have Billet wheels. Chrome wheels can look like crap. Billet wheels on the other hand which are timeless. Billet wheels will always look good on any color. Gunmetal is better than black I think. but throwing black wheels on something to have something other than polished. no Dice for me. I really like OP's wheels. If was going with the Denali theme I would be rocking them but I opt'd to go NNBS GMC 17's. Sorry for crapping on your thread Jeff. Cant wait to see the truck in person again.

Yes billets are awesome, chrome sucks, Black is not played out, you just have to know what colors they go with.. and certain stockers look good on certain trucks, im not a big fan off the 20 spoke stockers, therefore I say black poweder coat or gunmetal.

I like them too, not trying to be mean... personaly I would only buy the texas edition wheels, cadillac wheels, ss wheels, the 90-98 silverado wheels (the 5 spoke), the 08-11 suburban wheels... This one here is a first, never even knew gm had these rims... I say someone does photoshop and does them black or gun metal.

Also I looked at the photo again and noticed his bed cover is black, it would contrast better with the bed cover if the wheels were black... Just saying.

Looks good jeff, guess i missed it first go around. Usually gotta sacrifice wieght for a bigger wheel, truck looks up to date now though.

I like it and it drives nice. Kinda bouncy or more so than the stock wheels. Smooth as glass and quiet on the highway. I think I would like bigger wheels even better except for the performance loss.

When you need new tires you should try the size zach had on chevrolade 255/55/18 its a good lookin 29" tire! Would look really good with you slicks on the back!
