Trans am race challenge

This guys been talking mad trash about my truck and doesn't even take it seriously because it's a truck. He has a 1988 tpi 350 (355) with a mild cam a "racing" 700r4 trans 3.23 posi. Car is a pile and from what I remember they where kinda slow from the factory. I have run a 14.6 (3.08 gear) but since them have installed 4.10's I don't think he'll be a problem anyone else have any opinions on this I wanna throw some money down on this race. He has no stall and his car idols smooth so his cam can't be to wild he has factory heads and manifolds also...

I'm not terribly familiar with your truck, but by the sound of it, you should hand it to him, especially if he is unsure of cam specs etc, because then its bought not built

Ive owned a few of these cars and they are SLOW. I bet you at LEAST have a second on him. Most mullet car drivers claim they got a lot and its stock, if he cant tell you a cam size he cant confirm the 355ci either. When you suck the doors off his car he will tell you its cause he lost traction or it didnt shift right. Update us on this i have subscribed!

Be careful, he might just be reeling you in. Just because it idles smooth doesnt mean he doesnt have a hidden 150 shot going on.....

No nos on this one I looked the car over, apears to be stock. He was going to take a buddy of mine for a hot lap and it died 20 feet from his drive lol. We planned on going to the track fri and it didn't work out, I was bummed cuz I really want a 13 sec pass and it was sunny cool and dry out would have been a fast night :(. I had a 14.6 pass with my 3.08 gear on a hot day and was hoping with good air and my 4.10 I could run a 13.99 my fingers are crossed heehee. Oh and kill that stupid mullet car lol

went to the track last night and the guy wussed out, said he didnt trust his tires to go to the track :sissy: I'll keep you posted and get a vid hopefully

Normally you only see this behavior from rice burners. Tell him he should go buy a civic so he could come up with more excuses when his vagina hurts and he'll never have to take his balls out of the glove box.
Tires are a pretty lame excuse. Sounds like Joe Dirt realized his mullet car isn't a space rock after all. (If you haven't seen the movie I just called it a hunk of $#!+ )

What kinda rear suspension do you have in that truck and how much wheel spin do you get? S-10s are light but normally tire smoking machines.

well whats the outcome, seems like ya had plenty of time to race? did he win or something?

he wussed out and has come up with a bunch of reasons not to race but I'm still working him. Ill run him on the street if I have to lol

It's all stock right now but I am going to do a 4/6 drop in the future. As far as wheel spin at the track I air down to 18 psi and I can straight up floor it at the light and it dont spin it just digs (2.16 best 60') but on the street I have to be more carefull but its not to bad. But I can smoke em forever if I want to ;)

Well boys it happened today! he sounded like he was going to bail out from lack of funds so I paid his way onto the track. I ran him heads up at the track he got me on reaction time but the old c1500 is hard to beat lol. I ran a 14.31 to his 15.02, thats 1 for the trucks and 0 for the f-bodies!!! I told him he needed a 5.3 swap:dancenana:
