Rear mount guys taking opinions and wondering if it will work.408+y2k 88mm

Well after some thought I am gauging if it will work. I am doing a swap in my CCSB colorado. Im putting a lq9/4l80 in it to work bugs out on the truck and this fall pull trans to have gone through and then will put in the setup. This setup originally going to be in a mustang but .... long story its not going in it and decided to put in truck.
What I have
lq4 donor motor
eagle crank
eagle rods with 2000bolts
mahle nitrous/blower pistons
l92 heads/manly stainless valves/ patriot springs
y2k Turbonetics T6 88mm
precision 46mm WG to small??? should I buy a 2nd 46mm wg??

What I need to buy
Cam <---#1 question
injectors, ID1000s? maybe another just like there drivabilty
ls3 intake, simple cheap works
car manifolds 2.5" or 3" v banded Y pipe to 3" or 3.5" to turbo??????
have the 4l80 gone through(prob rpm transmissions as there close) and vig converter
Will prob also have moser build a rearend.

Things keep in mind the truck gets drivin quite a bit. The turbo inlet will go into the bed and a big panel filter will be on the front upright of the bed so weather wont effect it. The pistons have a -20cc dish IIRC it was @ 9.2-9.5:1 so hoping keep it on pump with meth if needed. I was wondering about the spool time I know it is a large turbo but hoping the DBB helps it.
I was figuring on 10-12psi would like to see @ 750-800hp at the wheels which I wouldnt think it be that hard other than wanting a baby cam in it for streetabiliity.
Hoping posting here will steer me right as this seems to be where all the fast rear mount truck are.

I'll help mount someone from the rear.

It will work! Try some 80lb injectors and a good fuel pump or a pair of Warbros in the tank. Try the stock cam or a 02 LS6 cam. Waste gate will only need to be bigger if you can't keep the boost down where you need it, one 46mm should be fine. A tight 3K stall would be nice too.

Lol thanks guys. Was thinking on a ls6 cam they seem to be a great cheap cam that works and proven numbers. Plan to look at converters was on the circleD site last nite. As for fuel was planning 2 255's figured easier than messing with 044s and inj. I like imput on the ones your using as far as how drivability is with them and if anyone has a mpg on basic driving only get 22mpg interstate tops now. Going get some pics posted tommorow as cant figure how to load pics tonight for some reason.

youre spending all this time and money on a awesome motor and turbo,dont skimp on the cam!!! get someone who knows their stuff to spec you one...

Yea I would like get a custom just dont want to go huge. I have a set of the early L92 heads and I know there thinner but one problem they said was from stress of high lift cams and stiff springs. Also from reading I need find someone who specializes in L92 heads as the common cams ussually hurt the motors performance. Who would you guys recommend to spec a cam?

I know being almost 2sec faster then any truck with a rear mount in a truck is over rated.... only had like 5 turbos on mine... couple of fuel systems... and few then a few "stall changes" lol .... sounds like he already has his mind made up on what he wants

yea I am dead set on rear mount,If you see a swapped colorado you know there is not alot of room. Then throw on top that wanting to keep a/c ps it gets tight in there.

Listen to casey, i built my rear mount after his and it works great, i daily drive it too on 10lbs. Use stock manifolds (i ported mine quite a bit though) and make sure you keep your y-pipe pipping size down to 2.5" like casey's or your first gear will not be fun lol. Use a dual 2.5" in to a 3" in to the turbo also. I'm running a JGS 400 wastegate with no issues at all. I had my cam for my built 370 speced by patg/eps too although i dont have the motor in the truck yet. Not to sure what casey is running now but i have the exa oil return pump and i bought a back up for long trips lol, its worked pretty well, i tried to buy the weldon return bump but it was back ordered like 4 monthes from weldon. When i started i kept my PS long tube headers and had a 3" into a 3 1/2" y pipe (not recomended by casey lol but im stuborn!) and it didn't work out to well lol.

Yea everywhere reading alot are saying go small on piping to the turbo. Also what return pumps you guys running I seen these about a year ago and price didnt look bad but it sucks I am with you that I will prob buy 2 for long trips to be safe.

been up allmost 24 hrs and beat. Thought id post a few pics the snail. it needs cleaned a little I sat it on a damp towel and it rusted a little. But thats what I gotta hide under it:)

I have used the tilton/mocal then two others .. Finally got the turbo worx pumps .. 330 bux well spent ! ... There are tons of tricks I have and can help u with going to a rear mount .. And pics to share .. What intercooler do u plan to run ?? You have my number ... Use it .. Or text me and I will reply with some pics !! I had stock un ported manifolds on my 408 but yes there is alot to gain with some arm work !! Now ported and coated .. The converter is very important also !!! Tune .. U can keep it very mild an easy to drive .. Mine was only in the 230s and able to make 745@ 13.7psi. On it's best day .. The downfall for you will be the cam and valve springs ...

Well actually got the truck up on stands,got under it and got dirty and did some measuring and had a wake up. Lookin at you guys pics there a good bit of room,under mine well..... its still a mid size truck. I am sure I came up with where it will be mounted needs a little bed mount triming and exhaust will exit in front the pass tire. I talked to Casey which was very helpful In getting some loose ends I didnt understand and nicely telling me I need to ballz up and put a lil cam and converter in it. :) Hopefully by next weekend i can get it to friends shop on a lift take the exhaust off and rough mount the turbo. My only scare is going to be cops and the exhaust when its done.
