Finally! Got a GTO

I got it today! What an awesome car! The interior is very nice, no cheesy parts.

I'm really going to enjoy the car. It's black with black and more importantly has the LS2, hehehe.
The car is suffering from TM! I can't wait to remove it. The shifts are a bit low as well.
As for the trans, holy shit!, no need for a shift kit, this car kicks ass on the shifting. It's very firm, almost enough to scratch second and third is very, very firm during aggressive driving!
I went ahead and got the windows tinted at the dealer, great price and very good install! Now it looks a lot better. The hood and spoiler make the car look longer than I remembered, which is a good thing, I always thought they looked too short, but not this one.
The brakes are very well designed, this car stops very quickly!

On the list, black rims with a polished/chrome outter rim in 18", not sure how long this will take, I'm enjoying how it is. I'm taking it slow on this car, so maybe a cam, headers, catback will hold me off for a while, i want it to stay together, lol.

I'll get it on the dyno this week and let you know how much HP she puts down. I see a lot of gto's putting a lot less than rated, then after 5K miles, they wake up, so don't expect anything great.

The grand am I had for an econo car, just couldn't keep up with the trips out of town, this one will have no problem! Time to get a valentine radar detector, haha.

haha, seriously, i don't want to take it too far, a cam would be great though, it has too smooth of an idle, then some long tubes would be nice!

That's an awsome car Allen! I'm sure you know about it already but there's some great reading over at LS1GTO.com on these cars. I think you might find some of the threads interseting.

Best thing about the newer ones is the split tailpipe exhaust. I drove an '04 when they were blowing them out for like $8k off sticker here at the Poncho dealer, nice even with the 5.7 + T56 I drove.

With the new GTO is the truck still gonna get attention? :cry: :cry:

Congrats !!! Now get to tuning and unlock somemore secrets to the LS2 I'm thinking about getting that TrailBlazer SS when it comes out. Hmm maybe a TR230 or T-Rex will wake it up enough for me... umm, uh...I mean for the wife...yeah, the wife is who it will be for. :doh: :laugh:

there were 12 at the track last friday for a georgia/florida meet...there was a gen 3 455ci/6 speed 7.5L GTO there. it was pimp! but wasnt running good. ill find pics and post later.

Hell ya it is! I won't forget it. Hell, I'll do most of my gto posting here. The car will stay somewhat stock for a while, it doesn't need much, just a tune, headers, and cam.

I have the 80e and all parts (including my trans harness!) to get it done now. I'm just trying to find some time to. It's been busy around here.

I'm slowly working the "boss" so i can get a cam for the gto, hhehe.


btw, this car is freaking awesome! it'll do 155mph in no time and sticks to the road.

heheheh...i was up there thursday...he cant keep THA BOSS outta it :lol: :lol: :lol: that thing is bad asss to the bone...went to the dealer with allen and they have a blue on blue over there in the show room...DAMN i never thought blue could look soooo good..even the guages were blue,blue leather seats...just one bad ass ride for shure... :cool:
