Spintech on the 6.2
Traded my stock muffler back for a Spintech Super Pro Street 3.5".... Turns out, it's wayyyyy to loud. I dumped it for now, but this week it will be going to the exhaust shop to get some sort of tailpipe. I'm debating taking it straight out the back like stock, but may do a side exit in front of the rear tire. I haven't found a single tip I like though...
Here's a few vids. It doesn't do it justice as to how loud it is. You can't hear people talking above 2200 RPM inside the cab.

sounds good! is this with LTs, and without cats?
-
Yeah, Pacesetters, custom made Y with no cats. It's way too loud. I'll get a ticket the first time I drive it in town. The video really doesn't give a clue as to how loud it is.
-
is it that bad cruising 70mph? i was wanting spintechs but if they are loud inside driving down the freeway gonna get magnaflows.
-
You don't have 3.5" exhaust I'm sure. I cruise at 70 at about 1800 RPM and its not TERRIBLE at cruise... like I said... anything over 2200 and its just too loud. I love loud.... but this is going to get me in trouble. It sounds amazing though. Very deep. I'm going to try a tailpipe before I add a resonator.
-
i have 2 1/2 true duals with an x pipe. just put a tail pipe and call it done, sounds mean
-
Sounds good, loud, but mean.
-
definately sounds good but loud too, i got the same muffler on my 4.8l it sounded good everything else stock but i know when my engine swap is done im gonna have to change it because itll be too loud
-
got the same on my 5.3 (except 3") dumped i love it, although i have the stoke manifolds y pipe and cats =/ wish my truck sounded like yours to be honest
-
It sounds amazing... deep is an understatement. But its just way too loud for a daily driver truck.
-
I see that u need to buckle your seat belt next time(seat belt light was flashing)!!!! Just looking out for your saftey buddy ;)
-
you might as well run it out the back, in front of the rear wheel wont make much difference at least it didnt with my 14in magnaflow i tried that. I ran mine out the back to about the spare tire and put a 5in tip angled down and out and it sounded good it sounds even better with the new borla though
-
No one can bend 3.5" pipe within like 100 miles of here, so out the back is out of the question.
-
why are you running 3.5" just wondering?
-
3.5" is the factory sized pipe i think with 6.2L he posted eailer.
