LS6 '99 RCSB Project - rkwhite61

Picked up a running '99 RCSB for $400. My cousin just wanted to get it out of his way. Drove it to the shop and started tearing it down.

Plans are a follows.

Drivetrain:
Engine: '04 LS6
Trans: 4l60E w/ 2800 stall
Rear end: 3:73

Suspension: 4/4 or 4/5 (want a slight rake look in the stance - trial and error here)
McGaughy's 2" drop spindles
Hotchkis Sport Performance 2" drop coils
McGaughy's 4" or Bell Tech 3" drop leafs - not sure which one. Thoughts?
McGaughy's 1-2" drop shackles
Hotchkis sway bars - front and rear

Wheels/Tires:
Silverado SS wheels
255/45R20 or 275/40R20 if they will fit on 8.5" rim - front
275/45R20 - rear

Paint:
GM Truck or Vette Black with Vette Electron Blue or Ford Blue Flame Metallic

Great project. 275s will fit on those wheels with no problem.

That is going to be nice when you finish it.

Really just your normal dings here and there.. nothing major at all. Couldn't pass it up. That's why I spent more than I normally would have for a motor. I figured it was a trade off.

Looks like this could pan out to be a good project.
Any fun mods planned for the motor?

during my cam swap one of my buddies was being a retard and decided that all the bolts he removed from his side didnt have to go in the same bag as the bolts from my side...he didnt help put the truck back together so I was searching for bolts all over the freaking garage. I was slightly pissed at him. :argg:

Wow this thing is going to be insane definately a complete build and a lot of attention to detail. Not many people would go through the trouble off painting the frame and such for a truck. looks dope!

UPS just dropped this stuff off at the house. Finally getting going on this dog again. My son's apartment and college tuition has been cutting into my play money. Damn him! lol.

Installed motor, trans and rearend this weekend. Didn't take pics of the rearend until I get new cover bolts for my Moser cover. Damn thing came with American threaded hex head bolts.

I was shittin' nickels yesterday. Dad called and said they were on standby and may need to evacuate the shop to due a fire. Had a move plan in place for all the cars except mine! Needed a trailer/truck to haul it away if needed. Got that lined up and then got the word dozers were able to create a boundary and fire department was able to contain the fire. Phew...

Thoughts are with those who may have been affected by the wildfires. :(

Im sure one of the local guys on here could point you in the right direction of a place to pass inspection/emmisions with LT's.

The only place stricter than where I live with emissions is SoCal. If I can get away with LT's and a catted y (real cats, universal Magnaflows are the ticket) you should be able to get away with it too.

Decided to redo the front brakes for something a little nicer until I can get a big brake setup.
