4L60e to 6L80e in a GMT-900
this is basically a copy and paste guys, but i hope that this can help someone else.
just and FYI:
i am not responsible for your setup being more difficult than mine or your truck cant work with my part numbers/write up. this is just a guide for the guys who want to try and possibly have the know how to do so. i will do my best to go into detail/picture everything i can. if you have any questions, feel free to pm and i will help the best i can. once again, i am not a GM Tech or any Master Mechanic, just your simple do it yourself kinda guy
first off you have to buy the transmission :eyes:
try and get with it the converter/slip yoke! the slip yoke is 225.00 at gmpartsdirect
converter can range from 775-1300 depending what you want/buy.
if you do not get the cooler lines with the transmission you will need:
P/N 25999419 its 105.00 from the dealer, or 60.00 from gmpartsdirect
the 60/65/70e dipsticks are not the same size, way bigger* its like 13.00
you also need the Flexplate (i think) for the 6spd im not sure if its the same bolt pattern as the 60/65/70e flexplate.

21153 is the u-joint part number i used on the slip yoke to front driveshaft. i have a 2 peice driveshaft that uses 1330 u-joints. this is for the guys using a 99-02 driveshaft. if you are running a stock 1 peice that came in the truck all you need is a 1350 to 1350 u-joint. my new driveshaft isnt going to be using this set up.
Tools Needed:
8mm socket *relay on the starter*
10mm socket *battery post*
11mm wrench *rear end u-joint caps*
13mm socket *starter bolts, 3 nuts that hold the fuel lines, vent line, dipstick*
14mm socket *12v on starter I THINK*
15mm socket *transmission bolt, the 7 bolts that hold the transmission in*
17mm or 18mm socket depending your converter bolts. mine are 13mm
13/16 socket and wrench *transmission crossmember bolts*
7/8 wrench *o2 sensor(s)*
zipties IF you want to clean the harness up and keep it away from the exhaust/motor
6" extension
flathead screw driver
2lbs hammer
prybar
4' extension for the transmission
Loc-Tite
1 gallon ziploc and electrical tape for the tail housing so you dont spill too much fluid
small flathead to pull the clips out of the cooler lines
transmission jack
3 ton jack
2x4x12" so you can jack the tranmission up to pull the transmission mount

08 chevy silverado 4l60e swap to 6l80e
I have a 08 chevy silverado 1500 5.3 with the 4l60e in it. But Im wanting to swap to the stock 6l80e. I got the 6l80e from a 09 denali
I have the 6l80e, oil cooler lines, different shifter with the manual (+,-), and the full harness. what else do I need? and what needs to happen to make it work in my truck.
