Customer '72 C10 LS conversion *** Pic's

1972 C10 Silverado originaly from vegas that was purchase at a barrett-jackson auction the customer wanted to get rid of the old school 350ci and get sum nice power from a late model LS engine. So we decided to just go with a 5.3l full bolt-on cammed not Fuel injection but the old school style carburetor set-up. so here it is we bearly started working on this project monday and it is almost finished with the help of our new employes Luis flowers aka black Mamba and Cuate aka el cuate...lol we still have lots of work ahead of us on this project... dakota digital guages fuel cell and sum 2010 silverado bucket seats & sum matching leather.

Its looking nice man, I just finished doin the same swap into my 82 GMC, used edl 2216 cam with the intake and module swap and man its pretty rowdy but it runs good, hope everything turns out good for you..

hey did you have any problems tunning the msd box with the chips they provide with the box? and how dose it run, what carb & fuel pressure you running now? thats to all for the good comments

I'm using holley 770 street avenger at 6 psi, didnt really have any issues with the msd box, the cam I used called for the #6 chip for a cam with alot of overlap, and man does it lope alot. Drivability is pretty descent, has a rich fuel smell at idle and cold starts suck, but other than that I'm happy with this kit, I installed a 6.0 in my 82 but i think a 5.3 works just as well, do regret using a 700r4, i built it with TCI clutches and band, no shift kit, but 2nd gear tends to glide in under hard accel, I think its to weak for a 6.0 torque. Glad to hear of some one else using this kit, I know most of the guys in this forum go F.I., and trust me, I would have like to go that route, just didnt feel like goin through, tank, gauges, driveshaft, crossmembers, O2 sensors.etc., my whole swap took me two days, went from emissioned up 5.0 with th350, to a cammed 6.0 with 05 truck fans and radiator with 700r4 with lockup. Hope everything works out very well for you, Your truck looks sweet. and the motor is dressesd extra nice.
