STS Dyno Results

Hey Guys, when I said 10psi felt awesome, I wasn't exaggerating!

For those who don't know, I have a '94 chevy reg cab, stock 6.0L (head studd and rod bolts), 3200 stall, built 4l60e, and 3.07 gears and an STS kit with the GT 67 .81ar.

On 5psi, this thing put out 410hp and torque was about 412, something like that.
Those numbers netted a 11.9 @ 110mph.

I finally got the intercooler in and my boost under control at a solid 9.5 psi (10psi peak). I was hoping for about 500hp :laugh:
It made some nice numbers:

669HP@4763rpm / 744lb-ft/4654rpm


I wanted to get some numbers on the stock engine before I put the cam in, I don't think I need it lol!
You can obviously see I need a larger housing or better yet turbo.

My goal is a solid 10sec street truck on a budget. We'll see if it gets there this Friday, if nothing breaks.

Ya, it's on the built 60, hahah. the only reason it hasn't broke yet is because I haven't had it at the track.
I'm already making plans to have my buddy take his trailer, hahah.

I'll launch easy, then nail it off the line, it doesn't hook anyway at 3psi, forget 8+

Those numbers are insane, Allan! You are making me want to get an STS now so I can do these awesome dyno pulls. It's just too bad I'm a poor bastard.

That's exactly why I'm keeping the cost down, old truck, paid off, stock 6L, decent drivetrain, anyone can do this, very reachable for most of us. You're a freakin millionare from your sig, lol.
It's very easy to get wound up in all the goodies. It almost killed me not to install the cam when I did the head studs and rod bolts. But I really like to take it one step at a time.
The nice thing about the kit, it's upgradeable, one step at a time.

Nice numbers! I figured 10 PSI would be the bomb! I can't wait until friday. Is someone bringing a good video camera, mine sux? BTW nice birthday present. :jump:

So are not even gonna try and run it over 5psi at the track?
If so, what do you plan to do to make it hook at 6+psi?

Awsome numbers allen. I didn't know if i was going to be able to make it to the track friday night but with numbers like that i dont think i can afford not to come out and show my support!!!

I'm gonna run it this friday and see what it does, i hope it stays together. I'll launch with about 3psi and then roll into it. The slicks have had it, but I'll run them anyway.
My insurance, lol, the vin says it's a 4.3L :laugh:

I'm gonna run this thing a few more times, I still can't believe it, but it ran it about 7 times, and every time it was gaining power. It's still rich, very rich, I bet there's another 30hp on the table, but I'm almost afraid to post it, haha.

I also called superflow today, I have a few questions about the high readings. My dyno is limited by traction, so i don't think the numbers are miscalculated.

i'll keep you guys updated.

I'll see some of you at the track, I better run a 10 if nothing breaks, according to the numbers.

Allen, those are some awsome numbers...and on the 60e is more impressive. If it holds up to those kinds of numbers then maybe I won't need the 80e..haha!! Make sure that you save this tune for me when I make my engine swap......hell I thought that making 500hp in the truck sounded crazy, but 600+....thats insane. You got a roll cage in that thing ? Certainly hope so !! BTW...went to SMPG South Georgia MotorSports Park last night. The tune turned out great and the ole Z truck made me happy. I missed my goal just shy of the 14s with traction problems. I gotta get some tires and I will reach that goal for now. Thanks for a great tune !! Good luck with your truck and hope all works out for you....until then...keep makin em go faster !
