whats the best spark plugs??? and whats the best performance mods for $900???

well the question for my truck is whats the best spark plug to get? 02 sierra 5.3, n/a. i always thought ngk but which ones??? i'm not sure if my tuner bumped his head or what but he said the stock ones GM puts in are the best???


ok and heres the 2nd question for my cousin who just got a silverado., whats the best performance mods for $900 or under?? LT's, HSW plate kit?? what??? the truck he just got is a 01 rcsb silverado. 5.3, K&N CAI, flowmaster, 4.10's. computer tune. not sure who tuned it though. he just wants the most he can get now for the extra money he has. any suggestions???

v power TR6 nkg plugs... your buddy needs a big stall and a wet kit.....

Why ditch the flowmaster?

because they are not the master of flow <<thats fun to say(they don’t flow well at all from what I’ve and others have found and the last 2 I installed didn’t last more then 1.5 years due to rust)

where would i get the TR6? all jegs is pulling up is TR55,TR55IX,TR55GP, IZTR5B11

I buy mine at Orielly's. Sometimes they have to get them from the warehouse but they do stock them.

TR6 stock no. 4177? 14 mm taper seat?

im also having problems with my flowmaster and rust had it for only 6 months and its already pretty rusted, love the sound but i should have bought a magnaflow.

ok i put in the plugs and i swear it seems like it lost power.... i left them gapped at .040 because i kept reading up on them and thats around where everyone else was saying they should be. but i gapped my acdelco's i put in before at .060, should i take these out and regapp them to .060?

You want to gap the TR6's at .055 That is the best setting for them.

u guys run ngk tr6 on n/a applications thought they were only for f/i?hmm i run the original ac delco iridium,arent they better than them tr6?

The NGK's are better than the ac delco's. The TR6's will work with F/I, but better for N/A. If you running spray the best one is the TR55's gapped at about .050 The 55's are a colder plug.

i thought it was the other way around. tr6 being 1 heat range colder

You're right. The higher the number, the colder the plug. Most N/A guys run TR55's. Most FI and N2O guys run TR6 or colder.

you well regapped em to .060 and theyre ok. not AMAZING or anything like some people say, but better than the acdelco's i had in ...but truck is down now thanks to a broken extention housing
