I have a 4.8 with CAI, Full exhaust, Descreened MAF, Detroit truetrac, 4.10s, Vett servo, nelson tune...
Someone give me more ideas....
I have a bunch of ideas i just wanna here everyone elses suggestions
I wanna get quicker on this motor before i have to get a new one, still pretty low miles so no need to rush and get a new motor yet
stall/cam/roller rockers/n20/None plus size girl friend <<best mod for the $$

no its from a tb with a 4.2L and yes for the cash spent ($135) it made a big diff. i would do that mod again if I got another truck
A cam is gonna be the best bang for your buck right now. A Thunder Racing cam seems to be a popular choice.

i would say that a stall would be the best bang for his buck right now given his list of mods. the stall will work good by itself and then pull even harder if he does a cam later.
PUT THE SCREEN BACK ON!!!!! cam and torque verter should be next.

a stall is another name for a higher "stalled" torque converter. tight stall with some gears will drive like stock if you stay out of the throttle. however, the higher the stall the higher rpms it will flash to when you hit the gas hard. it helps get you into the power band quicker and has a shorter drop in rpms between shifts to keep you in the powerband. my circle d is a little annoying city driving but mostly bc of those damn 3.23 gears. with some 3.73s or 4.10s it will feel much better.
the screen is there so the air is evenly distributed as it goes through the maf. It is possible to get false readings and to mess up the maf. It essentially does nothing for performance.Quote:

I had the circle d tb converter and the driving manners are much like the stock verter, real nice stall for the money, would still have it if I didnt go with the 80eQuote:

oh, sorry. didnt mean to insult your intelligence then. then yeah, it kinda feels like dumping the clutch a bit if you foot stall it up all the way. mines only a 3200 but i bet foot stalling a 4000 feels like popping the clutch!
not true at all. the same maf which is sold thru SLP has no screen as the SLP maf, the same maf that comes stock on the LS6 corvettes dont have a screen on them. Ive always ran my maf's screenless and never once had issuesQuote:
