GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Yellow Jacket got me.

I was working in the yard in shorts and sandles. I uncovered a yellow jackets nest next to my air conditioner. I thought I was snake bit at first. The leaves were covering the yellow jackets so I could not see what got me. I haven't been stung by a yellow jacket since I was 9 years old. Worse than I remember.

Any one know how long pain from this lasts? It happened at 11am and it is almost 3 now. It hurts just as much as it did to begin with. I have had it propped up and iced for hours.
Ruined my day completely. No gym time. No yard work. I get to lay in bed and watch tv. I have my foot ontop of the computer desk just to type this and FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I hate yellow jackets. :LOL:

No I stopped drinking. I have worked to hard for the last year and a half to put alcohol in my system. 64lbs was hard to lose. Alcohol slows the metabolism.

Vinegar or Ammonia sometimes relieve the pain a little.

Last time I got stung by yellow jackets, it itched like crazy for at least a week.

they got some sting relief stuff at the pharmacy that works very well..you roll it on and instant relief...

You may think I'm full of it, but meat tendorizer that contains papain breaks down the venom and helps relieve the pain and swelling. Mix it with baking soda and apply it for 20 minutes. You're welcome.

Dam man I hate when that happens. Here at work we gotta deal with tarantulas, scorpions, rattle snakes, giant ass freakin beetles that bite!!! Experienced all except rattle snake bite. Sorry to hear that!

I think the stinger is still in. It still feels like I just got stung. Swollen so I cant tell if it is still there. Its not on the yellow jacket. Unless the ants had a use for it. I don't have any meat tenderizer. Haven't had meat in many years. I will be at work tomorrow regardless.

I've heard of putting wet chewing tobacco or a wet tea bag on things like that help but don't quote me on it.

i got attacked by bees last week:(

Right now I am going to soak it in a bowl of vinegar. When I was a really young my grandmother would put tobacco or meat tenderizer on bee stings. I got stung by a yellow jacket when I was 9 and in the boyscouts on a hiking trip. I had to hike miles afterwards. I never forget it. Now I know why I remember that. :LOL:

wasps dont drop their stingers like honeybees. you should not have it stuck in you. Are you allergic?

not that I know of. NO trouble breathing or swelling in the throat.

There sting is as nasty as they are, lil bastards. It will def ache for a day or so.. They are one of the most aggressive bee's. will sting for no reason to..

Rub some snuff on it or break open a cigarette and get it damp. works when i get stung. when you rub (the tobacco) let it sit on there for a couple mins.

Well I was awake till about 4am it started to ease up enough I got to sleep. It might have had something to do with the 5 200mg ibuprofen I took. Throbbed most of the day. Swelling seems to be going down. Gonna buy some wasp killer tomorrow. :tvhaha:

u know what i hate,when the little bastards get in my sprite while im working!! i always check that cuz ive almost drank one ,ide hate to even think about the feeling of gettin stung on the inside of the throat:( ouch

That would be very bad. In the last 2 years I have developed a hatred for poison ivy, red bugs, and yellow jackets. I have almost eradicated the poison ivy from my 1 acre. The bug war on the other hand, still rages.

Well I only eat eggs, fish,no meat. Purely for genetic reasons. Heart disease runs deep in my family.

I remember reading benadryle(sp?) has an antihistamine that will stop the pain from venom.

How long have you been veg? I haven't had meat in 7 1/2 years.

I havent had meat, poultry, pork, or fish in 6 years, but I still eat dairy. To each his own, I just choose not to eat it anymore. I used to love steak and swordfish on the grill
