the big one is going to be the reluctor. the ls2 is 58x, yours is 24x. this means you need to swap the entire computer, there may be an adapter or something on the market though...
U should be able 2 use ur 4.8 harness and ecu. but also do u have a complete takeout? e-fans? there are obviously a little more than just these things but need 2 know if its a complete takeout and i can answer a lil more...:chevy:
Well it's not going in mine. Someone I know is wanting to buy the ls2 tomorrow but I told him I didn't think it was a direct swap so I was wanting to double check
The engine He is buying is a block/crank/pistons/heads. Ext. No intake or accessories. And again it isn't going in my truck
There are a few things....the reluctor wheel needs to be changed from 58x to 24x. Or buy the electronic box. The Cam position sensor is on the front of the block and the wires will need to be changed... just swap A and C. The knock sensors will have to be relocated to the sides of the block. If the motor has DOD or VVT that will have to be removed. Also a possible lifter and tray swap and valley cover....
wut has 2 be changed if im putting an 05 lq4 into my 1994 GMC ecsb? just the major i know reluctor, crossmember moved back, motor mounts driveshaft, efans, yoke, and a nelson harness, wut am i missing? sorry 2 interupt ur thread SS..but wut he said is wut has 2 be done..go with his advice :thumb:

You dont have to swap a reluctor wheel as long as you have a matching computer. You dont need to change the motor mounts just get motor mount adapter plates. And depending on which trans you plan to use you might need to change flexplates. Also depending on which trans you use you might not need to have a different driveshaft. Youll need gauge sending unit adapters to make your gauges work.

i swapped a 08 5.3 into a 94 chevy. just scroll through the thread and you'll see EVERYTHING you have to do to make it work.
if he is getting the LS2 torn apart just change the reluctor wheel while its apart. just look at my thread you'll see all the info you'll need on a Gen IV block in a Gen III truck set up.
good luck.
