CHEVY AVALANCHE 2004 99-2003 ONSTAR BOSE INSTALL COMBO - eBay (item 350230850365 end time Mar-20-10 17:15:43 PDT)
If you want to retain bose, onstar and RAP then you need the interface. If you are adding subs then I personally wouldn't keep the bose. You can easily bypass bose with the harness inside the dash that is clipped to the subdash directly behind the A/C controls. You can use the GMRC-01 by metra if you want to keep the door dinger(or lose it by clipping the wires to the internal speaker in the GMRC-01) and RAP, jsut hook it to the harness you use to bypass bose.
Just about anything Kenwood is good quality. If it were me I would go with ipod before a cd changer.
Roger that and also just a small experience from that Kenwood deck he linked to... Ive had 2 friends with that deck previously, the flip down controls of the head unit stopped working so they could only use the remote to navigate. Even though only 2 people, just a word of warning.
i dont want one where the cd slot is open i wont get that one aint got the money.i want one where it flips dpown im thinking an indash dvd player lol
ok so dad wants my truck to stay factory inside. so he is gonna get me a factory dic which is fine with me. what needs to be done for this to work
That all sounds kinda silly to me. The truck's dic is integrated into your guage cluster. If you are instead talking about a factory nav you migh as well spend less money to get an aftermarket nav, install it right, and put it back to factory if/when you sell it.
just facorty six disc is all it is not the nav. i dont need that got a gps.
Right on, Pioneer's 6-disc DVD 7" in dash monitor is probably still cheaper by the time you find a good working factory 6-disc(half of the ones I've seen lock up and won't take or eject discs) and have the dealer program it to your truck. You should tell your dad what I told mine: "My truck, my money, I'll put in it what I want to put in it."
CDs? seriously?
This is the iPod age man.......
$150 radio + $150 iPod = 30000 songs at your fingertips.
I bought an 80g iPod classic and use about 13g of it for my over 200 cd's.
I hate ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) that Ipods use, its all about high quality MP3 (320kbits) or FLAC on a flash drive. :)
the problem is my truck his money lol.
