Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes a true dual exhaust from the headers back with side exit...similar to a NASCAR setup? I presume it would involve using oval tubing, but I don't know. Or is it more reasonable to just have an exhaust shop fab one up? I'm simply too tired of all the corner exit, or straight back (like mine), or two to the right side setups. I want to be able to see the tips...otherwise I would just dump after the axle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Am I to assume that there isn't a commercial package for side exit exhaust since no one has responded?
I would just have an exhaust shop do it. G's exhaust is like what you are talking about but Jon did his for him.
Also, make sure that you don't live in the rust belt and that you put turndown tips on.
I had just had a full paint job done on my Blazer after I hit a deer and screwed up all the front sheetmetal. While at the bodyshop and the front end was off (I know the owner), I yanked off the stock manifolds and cut off the whole stock exhaust, then slapped on a set of coated Flowtech LTs.
Once the bodywork was finally finished, I drove my truck home (about 35 miles) with open headers! :burnrub: I was never so glad that there were no cops in sight LOL.
I had an exhaust shop make a side-exit (no Cats) 2 1/2" dual exhaust for my Blazer, and at highway speeds the exhaust apparently blew straight into my rear wheelwells. My wheelwells started rusting from underneath only 3 months after the paint job because of this. The exhaust shop told me to get some tips put on, but I forgot and ran it straight-cut.
I'll NEVER do that again. Maybe for an offroad-only toy, but not for a vehicle that will see highway speeds....probably not even with turndown tips, though that would probably help. It ruined a beautiful, fresh $3500 paint job in my case >.<
i just got mine done with a super 44 twin exit infront of the right rear tire and it sounds great, not to mention it looks amazing. it should cost you not more than 200 bucks, the muffler was 70 brand new, and the whole install and tips was only 100 bucks.
I've got a single exit out before the rear on my truck. Never had a problem with rust...one of the perks of living in AZ. I have a single flowmaster 40 series delta flow...I'll be switching to a magnaflow one day when I get monies.
As far as I know there is no off the shelf kit for before the tire. I just had my exhaust guy fab it up at the shop.

Gibson Super Truck (round tips)
pretty sure you got these mixed up. Gibson super truck has rectangle tips. I would only recommend Gibson to someone looking for the look and not the sound. Gibson mufflers are pretty quiet, even in their loudest model (super truck).Quote:

yeah, your correct. gibson has rectangle tips. Thats what im running on my truck, i love the look but its not very loud, for me i really like it. not over bearing yet when i get on it i can hear the motor.Quote:
