who has a truck with a 4.3

anyone on here have a 4.3 in an s10/sonoma or a full size truck??

what kind of gas mileage are you getting?

in town? highway? etc etc

just curious

My buddy has my old 4.3 in his zr2 sonoma and gets about 21 on the freeway and like 17-18 in the city

up here in PA where there is hill in every direction.

ive got best of 23 mpg on a nice trip. i average 20mpg on highway

city mostly is 15mpg

i tweaked the tune alittle. that is with the defroster always on and my front diff is locked. 342s with 30s

Best I've pulled is 26 with just a K&N and Magnaflow, average about 24, and I've never babied it through an entire tank, and get my best mileage with 89 octane.

o mine is a 99 blazer with 130k on clock

i guess auto and stick would also come into play...

ok im a auto blazer 4 door that is 4wd if that adds to concern as well

im lookin into s10's with the 4.3 or the 2.2

or buying the car that im driving around that a good friend is letting me use while my truck is down

i need something as a daily... an s10 scares me because i know what can be done to them... cars scare me because... its a car

my 4.3 gets about 20mpg. But I also have efans.

Buy something like mine, slow enough youll never get into trouble

when i had the 4.3 in Penny (my 99 sierra 5 speed) i got a best of 22 hwy (avg 19 hwy) & averaged 16 in town. that was with 31.5" tires, AIRAID filter, tune, & 87 octane

Eh if it has the 2.2 that will be good to putt around in, doesnt really have that much power but it still goes. The 2.2 gets way better then the 4.3

But 2.2s dont last as long as the 4.3s.....Junk IMO

personal preference puts the 4.3 over the 2.2 i doubt the 2.2 get much better gas mileage than the 4.3, atleast if driven the same. you have to rape a 2.2 for it to move out of its own weight. how much you willing to spend?

130k on the 2.2 and still pumpin lol

I've know people who have had a RCSS 2.2L 5 speed and they are dogs. The gas mileage isn't great because you have to floor it everywhere you go just to move with the speed of traffic.

my friend has a mid-90s RCSB 4x4 s10 with the 4.3/auto and she still gets a little better than my truck did. that's with mid-100k miles & she drives kinda fast
