your gonna need some good flowing heads and longtubes for a cam like that, plus a fuel system upgrade.
better hunt down a 3400+ stall.....
in other words, chop that ''.'' out of there and weld in a ''0'' add forged in front of that, and you'll have no problems out of that camshaft, i.e. ''forged 408ci''
WAY too big for a 4.8...that's WAY too big for a 6.0 unless I had great heads and it would still be on the edge of what I would use then.
Yea that's a pretty stout little cam
Yes, its big...but Jeff ran an ASA Hot Cam in his 4.8L ECSB. The ASA Hot Cam is 226/236 .525/.525 110LSA. It ran well. It needs at least a 3400 stall though.
well he wants to install it over the long weekend next week . let's see how it go's ,if it doesn't work it's going up for sale .
it'll take a 4k + stall to be affective, plus some huge flowing heads, it will work fine in a 6.0 with supporting mods.if not mistaken he may run into some PTV clearances, what kind of lift does it have?
605/609
If you do in fact run that cam, you'll need to upgrade your valve springs and pushrods. Stock rocker arms will work fine but whatever you do, don't neglect your valve train when you're making power.
i think thats way to big for a 4.8
i wouldnt go any bigger then a 222 224 or somewhere around that with a 4.8.
It'll sound pretty damn good
whos gonna do the tuning for that cam?
i say go for it!!! throw it in there, rev the motor to 7k+ and see how she runs!!
you dont got the cubes in a 4.8 to make big torque, so rev the piss out of it to make up for it...
going with nelson ,flaco or wheatly still haven't decided on a one .
iv had a 228 cam in a 4.8 with a 3200 stall and it still did pull till 5k. that cams gonna take forever to start pulling.
Im sorry but how in the world did this even come up?
good luck to the poor bastard that not only tunes that thing but also thinks its gonna make any kinda usable power..
that cam belongs in a 346+cui motor..
sold the cam !!!!! just placed an order at texas speed for a 224 224 on 112 that should work a whole lot better in his 4.8 :thanks:
Good girl! :D
well the 4.8 is out of the picture, just bougth a 01 6.0 to go with the 224 cam.will post pic of the swap soon .
Your brother reminds me of what I did, lol. I bought a cam for my 5.3, then found a 6.0, then bought another cam for the 6.0 and sold the cam I had for the 5.3. You guys are gonna love the 6.0 with that cam. Good Luck.
