I'm looking at putting a set of L92 heads with 918 springs on my 05 6.0. plan on using 07 escalade intake and 90 mm throttle body with torque rush xlink. upgrading to arp head studs while doing so. anyone pull of this swap yet? im sure its been done and was looking to use someone elses tips to avoid pitfalls. any pics or advice please post up. thanks guys.....gene
secondly has anyone heard that using a 02-04 vette tac module will eliminate the need for xlink?

the swap is pretty straight foreward, but i used edelbrock fuel rails and custom fuel lines with a external pressure gauge .

bracket has been changed slightly, and a custom intake has been made for it.
My camaro build uses l92s with l76 intake. Now I want to take advantage of the heAd flow to improve torque on my driver. I'm concerned about intake fitment, plumbing, injectors etc. I know programming would be needed. Any advice on vette tac module?
if youre wanting to install the l92 truck intake then theres no issues none at all it will bolt right up to the 6.0.. sorry i cant help ya on the vette tac module. theres a thread on pt.net maybe your answer you seek is there, if you need the link pm me i will look it up for ya and send it.
myself i put down some pretty decent tq numbers with a 232/238 .600+ lift cam
Im planning on doing this same swap on my 6.0 that Im building. I was going to use the GMPP single plane intake manifold instead of the L76 or L92 truck manifold and slap either an elbow and get a cable driven 90mm TB or get a cable driven 4 barrel TB to go on top. I saw the 4 barrel TB on another members truck a while back and it made me droool.

x link is an interface module that allows you to put a 90 mm ls2, l76, l92 etc throttle body on your older dbw engine and still get 100 % opening. from what i understand, you will only get like 85% opening without it. now with that said, when i was going over my parts list with john at speartech for the camaro harness he advised i used a vette tac module instead of a truck module so i would get 100% throttle opening on my l76 intake. just wondering if this stands true on the trucks as well?????
any other l92 installs that would care to share? looking for input. easy or hard, worth it or not etc.....gene
Ive been debating on stickin some l92s on my 370 as well, id use the vic jr for the heads with a fast 4 barrel 1375cfm tb as thats what i have now with a polished up vic jr. I know a 408 fbody with l92s has the same cam i have running 10.80s na, so i figure my cam should do alright with these heads. the only thing i dont like is the 70cc chambers. my 243s are milled .030 so id prolly mill them same to keep my pushrods the same length, thats if theyll even work, havent researched them a whole lot yet.

what heads did you have on before? compression would be 10.7 milling them .015. right now im about 11.8 according to United Engine and Machine Co.

with my heads now im at 11.8. did some reading on tech last night, guys were milling them .030, even spdc had them this way iirc. Milling .030 would give me a 65cc chamber,with a -4cc valve reliefs, 4.060 bore .040 gasket heard of some going .030, 4.030 cylinder bore, gives me a 10.98:1 comp ratio. if i use .030 gaskets it gives me 11.27Quote:

I have a fast 4150 1375 cfm plate. Im going to running a single stage big shot plate but running a dual stage 250 shot, maybe some more down the road. on the dyno i was still making power at 7k and yet to peak. Before i had ls1 heads and pro prod intake and 230/226 cam. I actually gained 20lbs tq with the bigger cam and vic jr. The throttle response is very snappy with the fast plate and accelerates very nicely. Only thing I got to run was gt500 that I walked away from. Once I get a trans back in it, Ill slap it back on the dyno and run it up to 7500-7600 and see if and how fast power drops offQuote:

Using the heads you have now and the TBSS intake/90mm TB sounds like a good plan. The Vic Jr intake loves higher rpms. That is where it makes its power. I am sure that is the exact opposite of what you want... You have a TB verter and a smaller cam--those both would not fit well with the Vic Jr.

if youre some what on a budget then i would mill some 243 heads and get the perfect cam. which would need to be spected out for your setup.
so a tbss intake will bolt on, using tbss fuel rails and my stock o5 injectors with only lengthing the map sensor harness???
depends on what yr tbss...some of them came with 243s...and that intake wont work with l92 headsQuote:

If you are just looking for more bottom end, I doubt you need the 90mm throttle body
