Hello ...another east coast Canadian cat checking in ... Here is my truck... Its an '05 Silverado Z71 4x4 that I cloned into an SS ...except my truck has a 4.8l and 343 rear ends (I think) ... The warranty now is off... so its time to mod the engine ...suggestions? ;)

also being that is a z71 its more than likely a 5.3 and you either have 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

Thanks for the welcome guys ! ... My truck was a left over and had Z71 decals Bilstien shocks and skid plates? but definitely has a 4.8 with really high gears... I was unsure of either 323 or 343 ... I just have not bothered to check as I want to get to 373 and rear disc brakes so front and rear end swap is in the near future... as for having a thick skin.... I live in Nova Scotia... most of Canada does not consider us Canadian so I have no worries that I can take what is served up from the American brotherhood ;)

I have seen a few 05 and 06 4.8 z71s with 3:42 gears.

I was thinking about the 6.0l swap ( I also have an '01 rclb 2500 with 410's and the 6.0l and it rocks... and gets about 12 mpg ;) ) I thinking I will stay with the 4.8 and do the gears and a cam just for some better sound... but I am still researching the 6.0 swap :) ... what would be the better year motors for me to look at as my truck is an '05 ...suggestions?? and hurricane Bill floated by me staying just off shore so no real damage :dancenana:
