Ya u got it. What a long day! I do have lots of pics bit the vids aren't much to loook at. The view is far away and the inside vids are boring because it's all white out here and can't get a reference on how fast ur actually going. So no street lights or poles.
that is great! I am on my phone so good
luck tomorrrow!
Sick man that is bad ass Allen . tell owner congrats from us
badass! I bet that was fun to be at
Thx guys! We just ran it again, backed up yesterdays run with a 253.7mph!!
New record just set!

The car might hit 260mph on a good day with traction but for now we're done. Goal accomplished. Well if we run it again tomorrow the run will be in the books. We had an issue this morning. So back to impound for one more backup.
The car is geared and tire sized for about 250mph so anything much
more and the engine will be spinning too high.
Next step is to back down to a smaller engine class then we can go faster with more rpm.
so Allen you swapping out the powerglide in the Farm truck and gonna run it on the salt flats now. haha Congrats man that is too cool.
congrats on the record.
That's awesome Allen! Hard work validated is always a treat...
Congrats on your new record!!!!!!!
Thanks guys, it was a long weekend!
Well, we ran into some issues, I was speaking too soon when I said we're backing up the run.
Each morning, after qualification, the car had an electrical issue. It would cut off around 150mph only when cold.
We think it's the intercooler and moisture causing something to act up, so all electrical bs is being pulled, including all the useless modules, then we'll build a harness and just have an engine and wiring harness, no more dash crap, bcm issues, abs, etc.
Plus, it'll be a good time to clean up the rest of the wiring and additions that were made.
So, we couldn't back up the run, but we did run over 250mph twice, just not consecutive runs, so it doesn't go into the books.
That's ok though, at 250mph, the driver found another issue, suspension! The car likes to get a little light at those speeds, so new shocks and more lead are going to be added.
Next year, 260mph!!!
That's still awesome...in effect you have the record...just not in print. lol
well done :thumb:
Good job and have fun with the 260
Damn that's good
PBS had a program about Salt Flats on just a couple a days ago , in the show they said the Flats was to bumpy for the faster rides (450 + mph) . But did show how course was maintained and laid out (in a "V" pattern , short and long course) , how time was recorded and all (some 15 miles of wire for the sensors , the 2 and 5 mile point are the most critical) , pretty cool you are there and competing .
Some of the rides needed a 20 to 30 mile an hour push to get rolling .
DID THEY GET THE RED HAT ?
