Does anyone know what I would have to do to change a drive by wire to a drive by cable.
i'm no expert, but i think you'll need the DBC throttle body (and possibly matching intake - i can't remember if they're different or not), a DBC gas pedal, and tune
tb, harness, pedal, tune.
Why would you want to?
I may get a 5.3L drive by wire. My truck is drive by cable.
just swap long blocks and use your existing intake...they are pretty much the same..
I agree.
Thank guys. Thats what I was thinking too.
What years are which? I don't know when they changed.
2003 was the first year of the DBW setup
Nope. They had DBW in 2000 on utilities. There are three types of truck DBW. The newest of them is on the 03-07 Classic V8s.
BTW, we have talked about 6's being cable but even they are not any more.
thanks now i know. so i'd be fine to use any '03 up 6.0 since i have a '03 6.0?
But is it possible to do? I have a DBW harness that I'm converting to standalone for my 65 chevy but I already have the cable throttle body for my 6.0.. I would just need the TPS and IAC sensor wires and lose the pedal connector correct?
