Nope, not a trutrac. I've been getting the dreaded one wheel peel at the track so bought clutches and springs to rebuild it. Tore it down and found the casting where the spider gear for the axles is galled up, spider gears are munched, clutches had no sign of material left on them and the whole thing is toast unless I want to do a poor boy posi and weld the spiders to the housing and each other. Now on to the search for a tru-trac.

Yeah, I know. It hurts every time I buy one. Two for the 10 bolt and now 2 for the 14 bolt. :sad:

WOW ,I guess im not going too get ,eaton for the 14 bolt.I had good luck with my 10 bolt eaton unit,i just couldnt keep gears in it

That's what I'm hearing. It's either that or the all powerful Detroit Locker. Neither one uses clutches. That's what keeps getting worn out in mine.
I've talked to 3 shops, and none would install tru-trac with warranty. All recommend auburn locker.
Greg that sucks...Just suck it up and put the detroit locker in... I love mine..

I would never use an Auburn in anything. Go full Detroit locker or go home. With a 3600 or whatever stall and that big engine a little clunking and popping around corners won't bother you.
i just bought the detroit truetrac. Its suspose to be getting put in saturday. Im ready to take it for a spin. To bad i dont come in from offshore till tuesady
Well, until I can afford a good locker I did the poorboy spool, welded the spiders to the case. It chatters around corners but works great. :thumb:

I will still chatter and skip in Neutral. Hope you have good axle shafts as they are the 1st to go with welded spiders. Buddy broke a stock axle in the 9" in his Ventura at Northstar after several months of driving on the street with welded gears and slicks.

Did great at the track tonight, launches really well cutting 1.7s all night long.
Got to drive an 06 Z06 :eek: Those things are incredible. 135 MPH in no time flat. Not too keen on the steering though, way too responsive. A nice car that any of y'all are more than welcome to buy and ship to me in 1:1 scale size. 505 base hp and light as a feather, sign me up!
