how much stall?

Hey guys i'm new to the site and just had a quick question..i just put in a '01 z06 cam and springs and was wonderin how much of a stall i should get. dont wanna go too much cause i do pull trailers and haul stuff every now. have a 2100 stall but its just not gettin the job done :(

With that cam, you're going to need at least 3000 RPM stall. The Z06 cam is not a good choice for a NA truck. It's intended as a high-RPM cam in a light vehicle, like a Vette. It's an even worse choice if you tow. Save yourself more grief and replace it with something like the Vinci Ultra Torque. Not trying to be a smartass - just stating reality.

yea i just put the z06 cam in a few days ago and low end torque was gone but top end seemed to pull strong. i dont want to go to radical with the cam

With your mods, any of the four 210/218 cams in the link below would work well (080, 043, 112, 062). The primary differences being the amount of lope at idle and the width of the power band. And your 2100 RPM stall will also work OK.

ok thanks. i'm prob just gonna get a 2800 stall from yank or vigalante and use the z06 cam cause i really dont feel like tearing the engine back down and i'v always wanted a good stall convertor

call The Converter Shop and get a billet one there in my opinion one of the best out there and they will build u one that will work perfect with what you've got because in my opinion yanks are not worth the money just my :twocents:
