To the 3% people

Ok this grinds my gears When you post something for sale like exhaust or bumper for x amount + shipping, you can not demand the buyer to pay the 3% paypal charges you to use their service. This violates Pay Pals TOS. here is the :deal:

4.6 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

handling charges do not include the fees pay pal charge you.
so knock the nickle and diming off

paypal fees add up and no reason to lose that amount of money going thru paypal. some ppl want their product fast so its not fair to the seller to lose money. I see nothign wrong with paying or charing that extra 3%

There is a loop hole though...
Say your selling an intake for $200.
you want the buyer to pay the shipping and all other fees so what you do is,
say $200 plus shipping. If you want them to pay paypal fees, then just make your price $206 if paypal is 3%.
When I sell something and I say I want $500, that means I want $500 in my pocket, not before taxes, fees, royalty's, or charges.

goodluck on seeing them enforce that one, they make more money because people add it on.

not mention shipping is usually a money maker as well.

some ppl charge for the fuel and box and masking tape to get package shipped. sorry not sucking any of that up

Yeah I always forgot to ask ppl for that 3% but oh well. Ill just jack up shipping charges.. haha

I just chrage a flat rate plus shipping when i sell something..If I want to include pay pal fees then it will be included in the price..not afterwards.

I would never ask for 3%.

If you accept Pay Pal then thats your expense.
Dont want to pay the 3%, dont accept pay-pal.

or Clearly list on sale price FROM THE START

$500 + shipping
*will accept pay-pal for additional $10 handling fee.

easy everyone knows what the deal is from the start.

I don't charge extra mostly because I'm so used to eBay (buying and selling) and they frown big time on passing the charges on. When I price something I take the 3% into account. Besides, I'll pay 3% to get my money instantly through PayPal anyway. I started offering ONLY PayPal on eBay listings a couple years ago because check/money order/etc. is such a pain.

that and you never know when some scammer is going to send you a bogus money order or cashiers check. It isn't that big of a deal on little stuff but I don't mind paying a little to get the bulk of my money instantly and securely.

I don't charge that way. I try to make it light on the buyer. Makes them happy. I hate it when you see something that says free shipping and then "for faster shipping see the lie to them chart below. " They then take 2 weeks longer for the free shipping. when I sold frequently on ebay my free shipping was free and shipped the day the item was paid for.

Yep. I often offer free USPS Priority Mail and Express for actual cost. I always ship the day paid if before 4:00.
