engine pinging! knock retard 4 degrees?

hey guys im new here and quite lost when it comes to reading my logs and my tuner doesnt want to help which is wait4meperformance which my problem is engines pings real bad under load and showing knock retart 4 degrees dont know if that has to do with it which if u guys can help and look over my log and give me ur thoughts its a 2004 silverado

I cant look at the log (hp tuners here) try running some higher octane and see if that helps. If you hear pinging let off.

You're gonna have to try harder than that.

I'm not sure -4 is that much but if you're showing only -4 and it still pings audibly you have an issue. Have you verified the fuel system front to back? I have no experience with this tuner but I have heard bad things in this forum about it/him/her...

yea i plan on getting a live street tune so from Jeremy Formato here in fl here anything good about him ? and what would cause my engine to get to much fuel to ping and what can i look for when logging

Pinging is caused by detonation which mainly from to low of a octane, and to much timing. There are other thing but those are the main reasons. If you have the abilty to change the tune pull some timing and see if the helps. Also what are you intake air temps? To much heat will cause it also.

I agree with previous suggestions, run higher octane(93). It maybe just me but I dont see the point of spending the money on a custom tune and running mid or low grade gas....

the tune is a 89 octane tune which i tried running 93 octane it just didnt change the pinging and also intake temps are around 105 degrees whatsa good temp and if it helps motor runs at hotter temps when its colder outside its weird .

When you ran 93 was the tank empty or half full? For intake temps the cooled the better when driving they should be no more than 10-15 above outside temps in the summer on open road in the city they are going to be higher.

did the pinging start with the tune? If not It could be a worn out timing chain and its advancing under load.

yea ran 93 oct a couple time back to back and on the log with 93 oct it dont show that much knock retard but still pings and it seems like the stock tune has more pep and has far as the timing chain motor has 44,000 miles on it could it be that already thanks guys for all ur help

So do you have efi live editor? If so why not just start from scratch and tune it your self.

wish i did all i have is the scan cable software

I guess wait 4 me is not available to help you? I know If I had what i thought was a tune issue, the first person I would talk to would be the person who tuned it. Im not saying anyone is at fault. But Im sure The tuner could give you some insight. Im sure you have checked the basics? Sparkplugs, wires, vac leaks, sensors, SES light, ect...

Where is the knock in the rpm range?

yea i tryed having jesse help at wait4me but i sent 3 logs to his email with a time gap of a month and no response and the only time he reponded is when i told him im changing tuners to someone that will help with my probs. as far as the knock it starts low 0.9 and works its way up while driving to 4 it may get higher while driving more and the screwed up part is its doing it cruising at 60 ? i it true every 1 degree knock is 10 hp?

On your first log I didn't see any KR....
Your second log is all whacked out! You need to keep your PID count to 24 or less, you have about 38 PIDS being monitored on your second log...Way too many!!!
Do another log with 24 Pids or less and post up your current tune..
