I'm trying to get my PCM unlocked so I have a core to send to allen when I change over to his tune. Wheatley is pissed because I told him his tune isn't doing anything I wanted it to do, so he won't respond to me. I need to get my current one cleared asap so I can order my Nelson tune. What options do I have? Please Help!
Why do tuners get pissed when they got there money to begin with! WTF!
im pretty sure you have to flash a new OS into i and only people like wheatly or nelson can help you there
I've heard a stock programming event with GM TI2web can do it too but I haven't tried.
If Allen can't or doesn't want to or Wheatly doesn't , I know Wait4Me will do it , or sell you one for $75 .

100% agreement dale, I paid him 5 months ago and he won't give me the time of day to answer my questions. Should I call allen and see if he'd be willing to do that? I have no use for this one after I get his tune, so I'd like to send it in for the core refund.Quote:

The only cable that can unlock the pcm is the cable that locked it.
I'm sure hptuners has some top secret way of unlocking the PCM's, but they aren't in that business.

That's a different answer than I get from my tuner but it probably matters more what software was used for the tune. I would try on mine but then I'd have to get retuned again.Quote:

$55 is very good! I'm working on my mom to release the money (she puts most of my money in a diff account so I don't blow it all) and I'll be in contact with NP to get a REAL tune done!!! I'll just keep the old one around incase it needs to go to a dealer, that way if they mess it up who cares haha.

I appologized to charlie about this and I am not saying he sucks at tuning, that'd be a huge lie. I know he's very good, but I am just upset at how my truck is (isn't) running currently. I vented all my anger from the track out on here and I should have thought it out more. There is no myth about this to me, I know it can't be done, with the tools I use. If it could, I wouldn't require that customers send in a stock or unlocked pcm as a core return, when they don't, we have to charge $55 because the pcm is useless.
Here's what I'll do, I'm going to send you a stock , newly flashed PCM that has a stock 2002 Camaro OS, GM's latest.
Then, feel free to flash it with any 2001/2002 GMtruck/suv/fbody file you want.

If you're using the same tools as I am, which you said you are, TIS, you won't be able to flash it.
So, if it doesn't work, what are you giving me, besides knowledge I already know, lol!?

If you password protect your BIOS on your computer and then try to flash update the BIOS it will do the same thing , you would have to clear the EPROM of all info and then re-flash or enter password is the only way .

Allen, I can't flash anything on the bench anyway. I'd have to swap it into a vehicle.
Why would a tuner that locks his tunes do free retunes for people that get updates at the dealer then?

See this is why you guys should use efi live, i locked a pcm and just that easily unlocked it.
Holler then now that Allen knows I'm not trying to steal...especially from him.
Nathan, talk to the guys at Huffines Lewisville. They have the ability to program a PCM on a bench there. I had them do two for me about 5 years ago.
I was just there earlier this week. Gil was gone but I talked to Matt and he never mentioned it. After I posted that I thought I might as well build a harness to do so (not sure why). BTW, whatever they have there to do that is homemade or aftermarket as well.
