yeah the clem is a cool place to live. questions ok im workin on getting heads cam long tubes and i want to run an intake like a ls6 or ls2 or something, then a custom tune of course. just wondering what would be the best/cost effective parts. like would port and polished ls1 heads be the best or?
and can i even run an ls6 intake on my 4.8 and i'm not gonna do a motor swap although i would love to drop in a lq9 6.0 and 4l80e

Yeah you just need to get all the car accesories...check out the front page news section there is a write up on a 100hp gain on a budget and an LS6 intake swap.
Nelson tune for sure. You could go with an LS6 cam...really good for boost if you go that route...and also for NA.
Read BlueCajun's writeup on the LS6 intake install. You can use your truck accessories if you follow his guide.
thank you guys im gonna stay n/a so i dont know i kinda would like a bigger cam. you can really get about 100 horse power fron an intake swap thats crazy. how much do those intakes typically run?

you've misread the statements. The 100 hp was a 5.3 buildup with cam, headers, tune, ...
You CANT get 100 hp from the intake swap.
ok yeah that sounds more reasonable. i've seen other people on here putting that intake on 5.3's but will it work on my crappy 4.8. are they that similar. i should know this stuff but ive never done any motor work this indepth before. ive always done cai hypertech's exhaust and suspension. but as you all know smog laws suck ass in california. so this will be my first attempt at installing this stuff and trying to get some real power out of my **** box.
save your money and go turbo. More power at the turn of a knob then all those parts combined will give you. Ask me how I know
ha ha i know i've seen your truck on here before. i'll get refereed if i turbo it and get busted by the fuzz. i might just leave it as it sits and try to find a cheap nbs scsb and do the 6.0 swap with gnarly heads and a big cam and blah blah blah.
