What are the different gear ratios? when i change my gears, should i take in consideration that i am going to do a 4l80e swap soon?
also, has anyone ever used the JET performance self tuning software and all? i want to tune my truck personally, just to learn.
i dono about jet but hp tuners is grate thats what i use
usual price? and can you program more than one vehicle?
yes the first gear ratio in a 80e is longer...it's a 2.48 and the 60e is a 3.06...
You'd want a lower rearend gear with the 80e. I don't know about Jet, I use HPTuners, same as Nelson Performance.
its 499 for the stander and 699 for the pro and yes it comes with 8 free credits and credits are 40 bucks a peace
nice, whats the difference in stander and pro?
what gears should i put in my rear end with a 80e and a 33's or 35's
the pro has plugins for a wide band check it out HPTuners.com >> Performance At Your Fingertips
Could you tell us a little more about your setup? That would help alot.
yea we need to no everything
I wouldn't change. Reason? The 60 has a too low 1st....too much drop 1-2. The 80 has the same 1-2-3 as the 400 (2.48, 1.48, 1.00)...closer ratio.
BTW, there's magic there as the 350 is very close (2.52?, 1.52?, 1.00). The reason the 60 has such a low 1st is 'cause it was developed during the suckiest era of non-performance.
lol well ok, 03 1500 z71, k&n CAI, flowmaster exhaust, bought the truck as is, 75k miles on clock, and i am running on 285/75r16 right now, the biggest tires i would go is 35 x 13.50, wish i could get a wider tire though. wanting to do gears, 4l80e swap with some LT headers and high flow cats and all 3in exhaust ran to the back with magnaflow.
The question now is why the 80 swap?
yea i can def. tell that there is to much of a drop in 1st gear, cause my truck has some good pull with the tires in 1st, then it switches to 2nd, and it is a slug.
60e is going out and i am going to be towing alot, and going to put a FI 6.0, and i am not going to be changing trans every year
he just wonts the 80 swap for strength not performance correct me if im wrong im just guessing but he just wonts it to last
His sig in no way suggested the need for an 80 for either reason...that's why I asked. The future mods might make it a need however.
i dono if you drive a stocker hard enuf the lil 60 wont hold up
What gear ratio do you have now?
prob stock 3.73s it bein a z71 am i right
you must not drive the blazer to hard that is a hella lot of miles ha ha you bein doin some driven son
Been at the track :ghey: :barf: and at a dyno day. Sees 5K RPM daily (it has no tune so that's all it can do)...
mmm you got a good one thin i have budys who tear them up in stock trucks and i went thru alot of them im the trany killer tho ha ha
It's how they're treated not how they're driven.
change the trany oil every 15k
My stock 4L60E went 120,000 miles with no troubles at all. Religiously changed the transmission fluid every 50,000 miles. Abused the snot out of it every single time I could. I wanted, no, I needed an excuse to get performance mods done to it. Even held up to a year of abuse by the Radix. Finally, I just had the transmission done the way I wanted it for the last few years, so I can go drag racing this summer. :)
I have a excel file for shift point for both the 4l60 and 4l80 but i can't get the file to up load if anyone wants it let me know i i can email it to you and may be some one else will have better luck uploading it.
your stall helped you out im shur i changed my fluid every 15k and i went thru them like crazy
whats your secret i wont to no ha ha come on now
yes, right now i have 3.73s
just go 4.10 if you insist on gears
i got a friend with 4.56 and 35s it gets up and go but he gets really bad mpg
