Tell that jerkoff about my ironblock! 5.3 w/250k miles on it ,as well as seeing 7k rpms on a weekly basis!
BTW Its the internet....LOL these guys are everywhere! good reading too!
I bet this means no more cheap used truck engines.
i bet you wont be able to buys these as cheap as you can before too long
its bound to happpen sooner or later but there is hugeeeee amounts of trucks/suvs out there with these motors. i know in the honda world (some friends are into them) when the k series first came out no one bothered with them , after like 2 or 3 years people saw the power they could make and the price of a take out motor went form like 700 to 5,000 or some stupid number. and there still high in price.
so side humor if ls1 is gods motor does that mean the truck motors are the great decipeals (sp) motors lol.
Huh? :ugh2:
Now I don't know if my cast-iron block is aluminum or cast-iron, even though it is cast iron. I guess I should just sell it and get a real aluminum block. Since they are going to be so valuable, does anybody want to trade an LS2 block for my aluminum cast-iron block? Just doing some thinking...oops, did I say that out loud?
Dood.
Really.
:tvhaha:
:LOL: Thats was freaking hilarious! Its funny how one quote he used actually killed his argument. Where it starts "the engine blocks were cast in aluminum for car applications, and iron for most truck applications"
What a tool. You just fail at life when your own research proves you wrong.
But I'm glad to know I've got a aluminum block :spit:
maybe it would work in modified racing, but in any of the stuff im around a LSx couldnt quite keep up. most dirt late model motors make 850+ and i havent seen to many ls motors make that without some sort of power adder.
Just a quick check and that seems like they are getting away from that now. Would that be right, meaning gen IV? I still like the thought of having a iron block, the lsx branded are iron (new 454, 427, and 400) to be able to push the 2500 they say they can handle. And thats why they say they used iron, and like you said for heat and rigidity, and its proven.
just to be sure.. I know my block is iron. :)
only advantage i see the aluminum has over iron is weight of a vehicle. great for street rods and etc. I like knowing i have a iron motor in my truck. iron can take alot more heat without much distortion. look at diesels
for pussy trucks that dont do anything AL is fine IMHO, kinda why toyota uses them. Fake ass women trucks
those guys were getting seriuos. If I heard that one dude right, did he say that ALL gen III motors are AL? Doesnt it make you want to create an account on there..lol
