Same here, and heard from the county manager during his meeting with them they said that by the first of june they would be completley shut down.(Bombardier Recreational Products) More jobs going to china or god knows were. This was their only casting facility in the US.
damit man!!! yeah i was working on oil rigs and the money was great!!! then a week before christmas i got cut... and like congress said (or someone in dc) its gonna get worse before it gets better... i just hate seeing my dad work harder to get us through, i was picking up ALOT of the slack around the house and he was taking it easier which i really liked so i hope i find someting soon...

Rig hands are dropin like flies for the the company i work for, companies are droping contracts and its not looking good for amyone. Its a very scarry situation
Its going to get worse before it gets better. I have never seen it this bad. I see it from the bottom of the spectrum. My loans have never been this high during tax season. I also have more very desirable items for sale than ever. Do buy anything new. See a local pawn store for some really good deals right now.

Fortunately for my profession, there is always going to be a need for fire dept/ EMS. But a lot of us are getting second jobs when before 1 was enough. I know at least 15 firefighters that work at 2 different departments. 48hrs on and 24 off. Not saying it isn't going to happen, but generally fire/police/ems workers don't get layed off. I bet a lot of people want to blame somebody for this. But truth be told, its a cycle. Thats the beauty of Capitalism. Don't stress yourself out too much. Because one day things will get better. Even if you loose a car and get for closed, you can still start over. We had a few suicides lately because of lay offs. One guy took his wife and kids with him. You could be in debt 1 million dollars and I still don't think death is an option. And cutting your, or your families life short is selfish. Stay positive guys. Make friends with the right people and never burn bridges. :thumb:
