Bad night at SAR!

Well first off, I made it to the track and had a blown tire on the trailer my truck was on(I towed mine because we were picking up my friends s10 so i hitched a ride) :ugh2:

My first pass went ok but I noticed the truck would rev but wouldnt pull much in the upper rpm(5000 to 6500). 14.1@106 with a 2.5 60ft. Im on 275/55 street tires.

Second pass, I added 2 degrees of timing on the HP tuner software and removed the air filter to see what would happen. I take off a little harder this time and squeeze out a 2.3 60ft (still slow i know) I notice the truck pulling a lot better than before so i stay in it. At about 200 feet to go BAM!! I hear a horrible noise like I just ran over a large rock. I lift right away and coast through with a 13.6@92mph. Turns out my power steering pump froze and the pulley shattered which shattered my CAI pipe and shredded my belt also.

Im just getting home at 230am and am shopping for underdrive pulleys and a power steering pump! This bites!:(

that suck about the bad luck, but got some promising numbers.

It could have been much worse. At least they are relatively easy to fix. And if you ran a 13.6 and you let out. You could have put a LOW 13 down easy. A little more tinkering and who knows. If you havent got the tune lined out all the way it is REALLY promisein

you must have gotten there late?? i was there until nearly 9 and didn't see your truck.

Not too shabby time wise. The boom could have been worse.

at least your truck didnt catch on fire....i dont know if i wanna go to SAR or not....everybody is breaking stuff when they go there

damn man that sucks. how long did it take them to clean that up?

Sorry about your luck. But it could have been worse. IMO people should bring a trailer, a dolly, or at least tow straps to the track. Because $hit happens.

hopefully not as long as a 1/2 track of trans fluid from the S10. i was stuck at the water box for 35 min!

yeah last time I was there this stupid truck blew up and I was stuck in line for hours. gawd

The s10 was the guy i was with, He bent his driveshaft and then it fell out. Prety crazy, I did see your truck twice, You drove by me a couple times. I showed up at about 7ish and was one of the last ones to leave because I had to change the trailer tire. Did you see the silver 5.0 that flipped at the end of the track? That was wild! luckily he walked away

I am pretty happy with the results of the second run for not knowing a lot about this software yet. It just sucked that the truck broke out of nowhere. I plan on goin with ATX Engine Man this weekend for some dyno time. My goal is the 110+mph neigborhood

guess I missed your truck, didn't see it. I missed the 5.0 flipping also...sounds crazy.

Just got done running around and getting what I needed:
Power steering pump: 60 bux
Pump pulley: 45 bux
Gatorback belt: 25 bux
Miscellaneous: 25

Not what I intended to spend:( Has this been an issue with the ls motors? I never expected the pump pulley to just shatter like that

Nice times. SAR seems to be a widow maker lately lol... Hope you get it all fixed up. Someone flipped there truck? Gosh dang, I love my truck I am scared to race it again lol...

flipped a mustang, not a truck.

Well got everything fixed again and im rollin! should be up there again next week, I wanna see what new numbers I can lay down. :)
