I have personally seen the difference in resistance between the two. taylors are at 300ohms msd are at 40ohms... but I didnt notice a difference between the two. I like msd ftw :thumb:
do u know the part # on the msd wires, also wheres a good place to get them.
eBay Motors: MSD SUPER CONDUCTOR WIRES SILVERADO GMC 5.3 6.0 00-06 (item 400014791982 end time Jan-02-09 12:39:07 PST)
ask the seller to make sure they are truck wires and not LS1 wires... the car (LS1) wires are too short.
cool ill make sure to ask.
MSD baby! Bought mine on ebay for 50 bux
are the msd wire boots the same as factory because its kinda tight next to the sterring shaft.

I wasnt really sure about the factory ones but maybe that can help a little with the question.
I got the MSD's and I love them, as far as fitting goes you gotta do trial and error with them...the 3rd one on the driver's side likes to rub on the steering shaft, and one on the pass. side is tricky around the dipstick I remember. Both are no biggie, just move them till they fit right!
I looked at the wires at summit racing and the Talor 409 race wires have small end boots they look like they fit well, what do u guys think about Talor wires.
they will work fine... both are good wires.
thanks im getting them tomorrow.
I have Taylor wires on my Hoe and my Mustang running LS coil packs
good wires.
The "truck" ones look just like factory boots and the factory heat shields
will slide right on to them.
I have a brand new set of Taylor 409's Ill sell you for 60 bux shipped. I change my plugs to often to go with anything but stock or msd. PM me if you want pics this is a brand new set Summit sent me after I bitched about the first set. You will not have any problems with them unless you check your plugs after every pass. If you do than go get a new set of AC/Delco's or buy MSD.
I like the MSD's. I have two sets.
As far as length goes, there are at least three different GM part numbers because there are 3-5 different style coils (they all interchange). Each style of coil "requires" a different length wire. That being said, the MSD's (and probably other aftermarkets) are on the long side. My MSD's are a little longer than I'd like but there are no real issues. I twisted #5 a little to keep it off the steering shaft. #8 required a little twist too to keep it off the firewall and AC case.
My 70K mile GM wires had more than 900 Ohms of resistance. The highest MSD wire I checked had mid-40's.
:)thanks guys i ordered the msd wires
Do it!
