What do you think about this suspension kit

I was wondering what y'all thought about this kit from western chassis available from sporttruckdirect.com. The deluxe kit is what I would be wanting, but it seems a tad bit high.

sounds really nice, i wanted to lower mine a couple more inches, but i wanted to keep what i have in hardware, i have 2/4 now and want a tad more, i may look into this one,

Sounds nice. IMO drop spindels are the way to go!! they lower without changing the supension geometry still retain stock ride and driveablity. :thumb:

Spindles work by pushing your wheel out 2" as well as lowering it.

hmmm, don't think i would like my wheel pushed out two more inches, i guees you'd have to go with a custom offset.

you dont even notice it unless you go 4-6 on a 88-98 fullsize with stock tires. Then you'll rub at full lock

western chasis=AIM=not so good engineering/quality

I hear it all the time, that western chasis/aim is el cheapo. i mean story after story of bad experiences and their support and customer service is below par. in fact a friend of mine went with western chasis drop coils on his 69 chevy p/up and found out that all western chasis did was take stock coils and cut them, and sell them as "drop springs". i know the price is atractive, but based on what ive heard, i would not touch their products. jmo.

thought the same but isnt chassis-tech = AIM, not Western Chassis ??? or both i though west. chassis was a different company?

Western Chassis is their own company, not the best, not the worse. The crappiest is Chassis Tech, aka, AIM.

Also, if you plan to bag anything, do nt use chassis tech brackets, alter images brackets, fbi's shit (service blowz ass).. i recommend suicidedoors.com(greatest guy in the business.. nice, fast and prompt. Can't beat mini-trucker owned and operated) and airridetech (ART) (even tho they are expensive as fuck).

on a side note, some of the dime boys are having their belltech blocks crack on them after 6-8 months of use, please check your blocks if you are running them.

As far as the drop spindles go I was told not to go with them on a 99-2003 truck because they reduce the turning radius, that is why djm and western chassis only offer springs and control arms for the newer body style trucks. I have heard that western chassis has pretty good quality or am I wrong. I am still thinking about the djm 4/6 kit, the price seems real good.

western isnt bad, but they aren&#39;t the best. REally anymore, no one is the best.

Spindles you do lose a little bit of radius, but lca&#39;s, you lose ground clearence. So its a toss up.

Marc (redaddiction) had the djm kit and said it sat uneven. It could have not seated right in the spring pockets or he got a defunc kit. I am not sure.

Mabey you should cut your springs yourself&#33;

:lol: too bad that makes them ride stiffer. a stock spring is given a certain rating and if you cut it, you are killing that rating and its ability to compress. :) I know you knew that, i just had to explain it for the newbies that we will get.

If I can get a knowledgable person to help I want to do a 4/6 drop, on FSC.com everyone swears by the DJM, but I don&#39;t know I have never gone with drop kit before. I don&#39;t know any other way to drop it either. I have been trying to decide on the 2/4 or 4/6 for a long time, but thought the 2/4 would be better to start with since you don&#39;t put in a c-notch, but if I am eventualy going to go 4/6 anyway might as well save the money and do it first. Thanks for the input.

Thats cool, it will still be sometime before I will be able to afford the kit. But I will definitely let you know when I do, I just saw a picture of a truck on fsc.com with a 4/6 and 18&#39;s looks great exactly what I want.

Yup, those blocks cracked on me when i had my toy tacoma. They also cracked on my buddies 94&#39; s-10 SS.
