badass! keep the updates comin
Yeah were swapping my tired old 5.3 for a lq9
Its a fully built motor it has probe forged dished pistons and probe h beam rods.
The cam is a custom ground bullet cam the specs are 226/224 .582/.576 on a 115 lsa
The head are 317's that our local race shop has ported and polished with 2.05 intake and 1.8 exhaust valves and comp magnum 1.75 roller rockers.
The turbo setup is a trick performance piece with a turbonetics 76 mm turbo and a 4 inch intercooler and a 3.5 ivch down pipe. It also has a turbo smart 52 mm bov and a turbo consepts 44mm wastegate vented into the atomosphere.
Its also getting e fans with a aluminum shroud built by rick from trick performance.
And yes its also getting a 100 shot you know for intake temps:thumb: along with a lot of meth
Were going to try for 20 psi and about 750 to the wheels
If yall guys have any helpful hints please feel free to chime in
wish us luck
Trey
haha what about the trans..?
you really went all out lol
Nice! :thumb: Somebody must have robbed a bank! You're going to need a transmission shortly. I sure hope you have billet servos in the transmission so it doesn't fry the band first time out.
+1 on the trans...I'm only runnin' 10psi with the stock 60E and I'm afraid to pull any fully stalled launches. Those will wait 'til the Lvl 5 is in!!! I've got the same turbo, looks like...I love mine! Keep us updated on the progress!
Oh yeah the trans is getting rebuilt to esencially a ftl level 5 with a 2800 yank stall and a zippy performance shift kit and billet servos:D
got any more pics?
no we only worked on it today for about 45 min, we got the intake pulled and the harness loose, the 5.3 should be out of the truck tomorow and then parts swapping will begin!
intake, sensors, front drive accessories...etc
yeah I'll post some tomorrow
heres the pics, cuz trey is a dummy and dont know how to post them

Come on now, where's all the empty beer cans/bottles? You're missing the most important thing when a bunch of guys get together an start wrenching on a vehicle. You also need a designated light bitch, thats what we have Alan for.
Keep the pics coming. :thumb:
trey = designated light bitch
