HI im Ryan from fort worth i met some of you at the dyno days in saginaw awhile back. I have a 2004 gmc vho.
welcome to the site! got any pics of the truck?
Welcome to the site Ryan! What numbers did ya put down at Dyno Day? What are your mods to the VHO?
Welcome to the site! Let's see those pics!
whats up salty lips, he put down 298hp-328tq i think
welcome, i was the guy in the awesome ford focus rental car hahahahah
Welcome to the site Ryan!
welcome to LS1TRUCK!!! ryan
Yeah it was weird on the numbers when I was watching the screen it said like 298hp and when I got the sheet it read 304hp so I dunno.
For the performance stuff:
I have AEM cai, lingenfelter 160 t-stat, magnflow dumped exhaust with resonators, airraid throttle body spacer, diablo handheld, accel 8mm wires,
perma cool e-fans. not much but im just getting started.
The other stuff: Lowered 2/4, boss 24s, billet grille, all clear headlights and corners, rollpan, debadged, 2005 chevy taillights, interior painted, pioneer f 900-bt navi, 2 solo l7 12s,
fiberglass box(at the audio shop being built cause the old stuff got jacked at heat wave),raised rear seat 2.5 inches, billet antenna.
In the works: Shaved tailgate, underhood plastics getting painted, Headers,
losing the torsion keys and putting my spindles up front.
Not bad man, not bad. Good looking truck you got there! :thumb: And I bet those 24'' wheels aren't helping matters much... There are a couple other bolt ons left for ya--Longtube headers and ORY, ported or bigger throttle body, lose the TB spacer, get a custom tune, lose the diablo, pulleys, etc. What gears do you have? You have a locker in the rear, or is it stock?
Yeah they are really not helping but i love the way they look. I'm already planning on getn some headers. I really do need a tune, but why you say lose the ptb?
The TB spacer doesn't do anything except for making the intake hiss... Yeah, you will like the Pacesetter ceramic coated ones.
welcome...nice truck!!!
Be glad you can run on a chassis dyno. Wish I could.
Welcome fellow VHO!
Yeah, those 24's are killing you. Get those longtubes & it will really wake up.
Yeah im excited about those lt's, and when i get some pulleys im gonna throw it back on the dyno and see what the overall improvement is.
On a 2003+ AWD type transfer case (like an Escalade or Denali), running it without the front driveshaft will ruin the coupler/open differential/pinion gears in the transfer case.
To quote GM service information:
"The following actions occur because of the planetary differential:
• If the vehicle is on a hoist, the front propeller shaft can be rotated by hand.
• The vehicle cannot be driven if one propeller shaft is removed.
• Operating the vehicle on the hoist can damage the differential pinion gears, by over-spinning.
• Operating the vehicle with one propeller shaft removed causes over-spinning of the differential pinion gears."
I don't wanna risk it. I've heard some people have an adapter they can install in place of the transfer case on these for dyno runs but that's way too much trouble and expense for an almost stock 6.0 like I have.
The 2002 and prior AWD's have a different t/case that has clutches and selectrive torque apply/split and they're not hurt by running on the rear only.
welcome to the site!
Well damn...nevermind. I have seen people do this and not ruin anything. And one member on here did this on a dyno run and threw down 500+ RWHP. He has had no problems with his stock transfer case and he runs nitrous through it at launch and it seems to be fine. Actually, I removed it twice this past weekend to do a stall... The fluid level was fine and did not show any signs of wear.
Nah its ok to take off the front ds to do a dyno pull.
Welcome to the site. Low numbers for a lq9 :spit:
Low numbers for me? I put down 4 less rwhp than an Sss with about the same mods except he also so had Long tubes on the same day i had mine dynoed!!
So who'll buy me a t/case if it blows up?
LOL
checks in the mail gasguzzler oh and i left it blank too :burnrubb:
My bad. Did you have the red 88-98 single cab?
