i have a 2000 1500 with a turbocharged 5.3 and i just got a 6.o ls2 out of a gto and was wondering if someone knows what i need to do about the wiring if it will work of if i need the harness too

i think you need a harness but this is the wrong area to post that in. this is the greeting section, try the swap section.

Welcome to the forum. So--a turboed 5.3L...what all do you have on it?
You'll need a modified wiring harness--the LS2 is a Gen IV motor--which is not the same as the Gen III, which your truck has. I am sure most things will probably be able to get hooked up, but I am sure there are some other things that won't go...

But hey--do whatya want---the 6.0L will drop right in--you will need to retain the truck motor mounts. I say just drop the bitch in and see what all you can get hooked up in the wiring dept. Once you find out what you are lacking/need, fabricate something at that point.
