Badazz
Don't forget to change that oil filter before it starts up. That dented filter will allow garbage to enter the engine.
The rear return line on the transmission, is the fitting going deep into the center support bearing the way its supposed to in order to keep from burning up the rear section of the transmission?
Is he putting a skid plate on the bottom to keep from breaking the oil pan? It looks lower than most of the rest of the truck.
Cool setup. Nice work so far. :thumb:
Looks like he needs an fbody pan setup.
Nice allen, that truck is dirty haha was mine that dirty under there?
pretty cool man... i am with ricky i thought mine was dirty and rusty...lol
what exactly are we looking for? 4x4 on airride? engine conversion? maybe it's the percosets from surgery this morning....
I hear ya Red, ya, those things are stuff that we haven't done yet.
What do you mean that oil filter won't work?
Ya, i talked to him about dragging the oil pan, we'll get it going then talk about an fbody pan.
Not looking at much, just pics for others that are doing the same thing. I know when I look at other projects i sometimes get ideas.
Yep, F-body will take care of it. I have a 4/5 drop and no clearance issues. You'll probably find the pinion angle to be out unless he added shims or rotated the spring saddles but I could be wrong.
awesome pictures and project! the pictures help me out a ton cause im starting the same swap in my 92 in about a month and this answered all my questions
here's an update, large pics and big vid file, almost done, just need an air filter on it. He's taking care of the exhaust.

nice job on the wiring. couldnt get the video to work though, anyone else get it? maybe its just the pc im on
guess im to fast for ya, looks like his gas gauge works, stupid 98
Conversion looks great Allen! I'm glad I got to see it in person.
do you have part numbers for the radiator hoses?
Great pics for someone starting a conversion or someone trying to clean up one they already started. Do you have part #'s for the tranny fittings? Those OEM quick disconnects are leaking on mine.
so this is probably a pretty newb wiring question BUT....
in the pics, there are 5-6 wires going to terminals on the passenger side firewall, looks to be right where the old OBS underhood relay/fuse panel/whatever was, they are just studs sticking out of the firewall (sorry for my terminology).
what are these? grounds? are they connected through the firewall to fuses/relays? just trying to get an idea of whats going on there.
thanks
That is a power distribution block. One main power lead comes to it and then supplies a large number of other places with 12V power.
It's a factory block, we just used the block to tie his stereo system and other stuff to power. It's a handy device.
When doing grounds, be sure every major component is grounded. Tie the chassis to the block, the block to the chassis (at 2 pts), the block or chassis to the battery, and the battery to the fenders. You can't have enough grounds.
Looks good, can't wait to get mine going
