Im married have no kids, my wifes car and my truck are paid off, and so is the house. Im thinking about buying a 1977 Chevrolet Caprice 4 door for my project, that has a crappy, slow, emission-controlled (PCV, TAC, AIR pump, and diaphramic EGR vavle) oil covered, 350 4bbl. I want to swap it for a Vortec 5.3 LM7 motor from a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Im hoping to get it with low mileage. Any suggestions, before I commence this project?

IMO if you want a fast car I would pick something smaller. I had an 88 caprice retired police car with a 350 roller motor and it was decently quick but never could make it fast enough for my taste!
well its been my favorite full size sedan of all time. My parents bought a used 1980 Caprice when they were coming to America in 1984, I liked it but they got rid of it in 1995 to buy this crappy Toyota camry. Since then I been searching up and down for that kind of car that is in good shape. I wanted the 77 version because of the style. And I really dont want to put much performance in it, just a vortec 5.3 to power it. I saw this video where this dude put a vortec 5.3 in a 1980 something buick grand national or monte carlo and I was hoping hey if he did that, why can't I. So i got all inspired and decide to work on it when I have time. Lately I've been busy so I don't know when I'll be able to do it. All I could say is "time will tell"Quote:

I have the Magnaflow too and love it, my brother got his used from craigslist but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow Exhaust 16942, or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
