i have a 5.3l 02 with 113000 miles. i have a cat back to a custom flowmaster a true flow intake a bully dog chipand a cut out. should i get a custom tune with shorty headers or tb with shorty headers. after i fix my bent axle.

make sure you look at you exhaust manifold bolts before even ordering longtubes. If there is a missing bolt forget the whole thing. I had a missing rear drivers side bolt. It was broke off inside the head and I could not get it out. It was the main reason for me to get a new used LQ9.
then what would give me more power custom tune or Long tubes.
Do both. You can do the tune by itself but to get the most out of long tubes you really need a tune to take advantage of the free flowing exhaust. While you're at it, do a cam swap too. On the front page of the website is a topic showing how to get 100 HP out of cam, headers and tune. :thumb:

but i dont have enough monet for both of them& bully dog says that there gas chip gives 30hp and 50lb so would a custom shop tune give me more or should i go with long tubes or some other add on
I don't have any experience with Bullydog tuners, but my Hypercrap tuner I had made about the same performance claims. I can speak from personal experience that there is no comparison between handheld tuners and a custom tune.
Get a custom tune. You won't be disappointed.
Later, when you get some more money go for the long tubes.
i know how that broke bolt stuff goes. when i went to put the socket on the head of the bolt it fell off on the floor. I was pissed.
You guys are scaring me, i have a broken passenger manifold and not sure of the status of the bolt. IF it is busted what are the options? can it be drilled out or use an extracting bit or?????
i sell bully dog products thats why i wanted to if there hp was true. but im going with shorties with catco y pipe with cats do you think if it would help me with power and what do you do if the bolt breaks off. thank you this site has been a big help and you guys rule
a left hand drill helps any time that you broken right hand threaded bolt. Sorry to hear your bad luck.
i had 3 ,all i did was drill em out with a 90 degree drill and easy outed them .1 i did heliocoil tho on my buddies.they were pretty easy 4 me .sometimes u just get lucky.i also pulled my inner fender and put it on the lift too stick my arm and head in theyr to minipulate around.ive def seen them so corroted tho on most of these motors that its a given to snap off the exhaust bolts .good luck to all .and have fun dont give up untill theyre ruined.lol
