those cam rods ?

were can i buy those rods for changing cams .it seems like they would be pretty nice to have im gonna be doing some cams soon and i want them.any one have a link were i can buy them?i dont want too be pulling heads anymore .thanks ahead.link please

Been a busy night around here. Why not do the TBSS 90mm setup if you want to keep the torque. I just can't imagine gaining much from any of them since you have forced induction already. To me it sounds like too much money for a small gain in your situation. You may get some huge gain but I cannot see it. :twocents:

Are you talking about the two rods that go under the lifters? I have gone to Dollar General and successfully used a shower curtain rod :D Spent like 2.99

Or not even use them at all. I have done countless cam swaps and I have not used them at all. The key to doing a successful cam swap in an LS motor is to spin the cam several times, making sure you hear all of the lifters stay up. After you stop hearing the clicking of the lifters, just be very careful and slide that biatch out slowly... And then be just as careful pushing it back in... If the cam is dry upon install, make sure to douse it with motor oil so that it will slide back in with ease... BAH-ahahaha--that's what she said!

ive seen alot of people say they do this but i just think y not be safe and slip them in whats it take 5 minutes to do it ?i just dont want too have too tear down a motor just because of a careless mistake.ya know.

go to wal-mart and get a stick of 5/16 dowell rod...like .57 or something like that

LOL Parker...I have actually seen someone do that before--it will work for sure. But make sure to sand them down really smooth and drill a hole in one end and run wire through it so you can easily pull them back out when you are finished...

Yeah Ramsey, the wooden dowel rods are a little redneck, but they work. Here is a link to the lifter rods...

The 5/16" dowel rod trick works great. Cheap too.
