Hey everyone,
Has anyone ever used a good fuel injector cleaner? My truck now has 120,000 on it and I'm looking to do some kind of system cleaner. What about those decarboning total cleaners? any thoughts or opions? Thanks

peopl euse seafoam, but that stuff can be dangerous. lucas injector cleaner works really good
seafoam in the fuel tank is safe. my local walmart store does injector cleaning with BG products, I think it was. They disconnect the fuel line and fuel pump fuse and then start and run the truck on pure injector cleaner pressurized by air.
Anyone Else ever try this sea foam? Ive heard people say that it messed up there trucks. that and I don't think i could ever let walmart touch my truck.
i think u should use seafoam.lolj/k i thought it would be like that gameshow .number 1 anser IS SEAFOAM.hahaha.i know that answer with my ears closed on here thats freakin funny.but it is good to see the other sugg, tooo ,bcause theyre is alot of other acceptable inj cleaners out theyre, the one red mentions works well and bg profucts are great also.lucas profucts work well 2 tho.so toss it in a hat and use what comes out.i like gregs idea tho i would do it because i did the same exact thing with my inj,and bg products with a machine they use for this i whatched this happen right in front of me thats y i know it works.i held the fuel rails and the other guy pulled the trigger .do it its fun.
Yep seafoam rocks
One of the guys on another forum I frequent swears by Chem Tool.
Fuel Additives
Here is the thread. Caution, it's a Dodge site. Yeah, I've got a Ram too, don't shun me.

He recommends the second one down. It says it's a carburator cleaner but it works for injectors too. To be honest, I've never been able to tell much diff. after using any cleaners. I did use the Chem Tool and will again, but I think it's kinda like a vitamin thing. I don't feel a thing on a daily basis but I know that in the long run they improve my health. I wonder if this is the same. I might not feel anything but it keeps things clean so there is no slow degredation. I also have a friend who was the shop forman at a Chevy dealer for years. He swears (actuall swore by, he passed away November) that adding a can of ATF to your tank does just as well plus it helps to lube things as it goes through. Once again, don't know how good that is but at the same time there is usually a bit of fact behind those old folk remedies. I tried it and like with all the other cleaners I've used couldn't really tell anything. I think I'll keep using the Chem Tool just because, well I don't know why. I guess that's a lame reason but I figure it can't hurt.
This is what I've seen used from BG... BG Company
BG's 44K is good stuff,it's not a miracle power adder or anything,it does clean up some of the muck though.
there have been 4 guys here bend rods from using seafoam in the intake... It may say its ok, but A bent rod is a high price to pay for a simple mistake of useing a little too much. it may be fine in the injectors, but remember that noncombustables... dont combust. Rc does injector blueprinting, and cleaning. google them. Also Lucus is ok.
how much is it for a new set of injectors?
if your going to replace them either go here RC Fuel Injection and get your redone. Or look on some of the sponsers sites. TRT Performance / Texas Rear Turbos - LS1 Performance Custom Race & Street Performance -LS1 Performance Gen III & IV, Nitrous, Engines, STS & Front Mounted Custom Turbo Systems Has them listed at $300 for Lucus 42# injectors. Good Deal IMO.
