Going to do Bags and a 4 link

i have been talking with my friend who has done a lot of Air Bags on trucks and what not...i want my truck lower but i still want to pull a trailer...so he said bag the back and do drop spindles in the front...we can get 5-7" drop on the back with the bags and a baby c-notch without having to cut into my bed or anything and when i want to pull a trailer just raise them up...also said my ride will be so much better over the leaf setup....hopefully will get this done in the next month or so...i have a friend who has this already on his truck and he loves it.....pics to come when we start....we are going to knock this out in a very loonngg weekend.....let me know some thoughts....also if anyone wants this done i can get you a killer deal through him

4 link ,that truck wont only pull and look good but it will launch good also!!go with slam bags or contitech

oh it already launches hard lol....he has a setup he uses with a 5 gallon tank and 2 compressors....not sure what brand....i stick with the motor and trans stuff..i hate suspension lol

Where do you plan to locate the bags? Parallel 4 link? I can send you lots of pics of jobs we have done for some ideas. thats cool your doing it yourself, you will learn alot about suspensions that way. 4 link setup done correctly is 10X better than leaf springs.

what's the difference between parallel and lateral?

damn man you 4 link clifford and he will leave harder than you can ever imagine... but i am not sure how it will work withthe bag set up... will be cool to see though man... good luck...

Are you wanting to be able to lay it on the ground or just have it for ride quality..

ride quality and be lower and still be able to pull a trailer no problem....really only care about making the wheels even with the fender

my 4/8 did that. But a 5/7 with bags will make it ride realll nice and look so good. You still have the black SS wheels right?

Ive always wanted to lower mine, but I would consider talking to Mr. P (do you know who he is) before doing any of this. Ive had some long conversations with him about dropping our AWD SS's. He is very knowledgeable about that ****. Somehting how with our trucks being AWD it throws of some angles and laying down a lot of HP can be a disaster waiting to happen. Just a thought.

Yes, pinion angle. You have to make sure its right but it can be done and has been done. anything on those trucks can be relocated to maintain proper pinion angle of both driveshafts and bring on the power with a 4link. You may have to lengthen or extend some link bars to acheive it. aka what I have done with my stock 4 link, I have lowered my tbss and have made new link bars to correct my pinion angle. The factory does not set all suspension properly either(pinion angles, axles warped, etc,etc) I have seen all of these problems from all of the big three companies. The main thing is set your pinion angle correct, all 4 link bars have to measure the same and work together or the slightest thing could throw you off(leaf springs allow your axle to bend/tweak in a way not wanted.) Lateral 4 link? Not sure if the exsists or is just another name for some of the following. A 4 link which is adjustable on bars and mounting points(not seen on streets very often). 4 bar which does not adjust at mounts(all bars at same length, most commonly seen on some cars and trailblazer ss). 3 links(which you will prob. have to do because of gas tank in the way), triangulated 4 bar and so on so on.

okay well i am not to worried about getting the pinion angles right cause the guy who is doing this has done a ton of bag setups on some lifted and slammed trucks and he has seen the power i am putting down so we will get all that in line....as it is right now i can't really do much spraying or racing till i get my tune worked out and get my new intake setup on the truck

Sounds like your in good hands then. 4 links can be scary and confusing. Just wanted to get the facts straight. Please don't do a 2 link PERIOD... You will not be happy with it. Take pics.

oh yeah that's why i went to a friend that has done a few of these before and definately no 2 link....i need the 4 link for sure....hopefully this will help me come out on a bigger shot...:nx:

are the spindles going to mess with your front CV angles much?
